People have an obsession with being niche
It's okay to like popular things, some things get popular BEACUSE they're good, its like if you don't have niche taste in music or fashion or just about anything your gonna be called basic The amount of people I've met that get sad about the fact that, something they're into is getting popular beacuse they want it to stay niche, but that's not the point of doing things at all
I remember when I had 'niche' interests, I'd actually tell my friends all about them but of course since they'd just didn't wanna get into it I was like, okay i just won't talk about them ig. After I stopped yapping about these things, my friends would say I'm gatekeeping or want to be niche so bad. It made me so sad.
