How long should we wait to upload chapters?
They had a witch hunt on Painter of the Night today! A huge fight started in the comments whether uploading the season 2 debut chapter today was right or wrong... (it was clearly wrong.) There were many new people who were just excited to upload and didn't understand the consequences. So are you for or against immediately uploading these pirated chapters? Why? There was also a lot of discussion on how long uploaders should wait to upload after the official released of the chapter: some said 2-3 days, many said 1 week! So how long, in your opinion, should uploaders wait? I think as a community we should definitely come to a census on these ethical practices.
I think people should wait. People constantly justify why they can't buy chapters because they can't afford it, ok fine I get it. The LEAST you can do is not take MORE money away from the artist by uploading it literally the DAY OF. If you truly want to support them as much as you can without paying, just wait.

Right now I am currently grateful to be in a situation where I am financially capable of supporting the artists and end up buying the updates immediately, but ideally????
I think uploaders (love you, mangago uploaders) should at least wait an entire week. Being a whole week or chapter behind will hopefully push those with the finances to purchase ...... 2 reply
I agree with waiting 2-3 days. It is of course wrong to take away money from the creator right on the day of release.
Personally, I don't even go on Lezhin or Renta or anything like that, so I don't know if there's an update until it's added on here. Like, I get the impatience but if you don't know about the update you won't feel like you're missi...... reply
I'm actually debating myself if I should upload chapters, haha! These translated chapters are ones I paid for but still. I'd say wait a couple of days to a whole week. I lean more towards a whole week just to be safe. And yeah, I'm really considering the consequences :') But tbh...getting translated chapters is pretty cheap. I see a few series on h...... reply
I think it's wrong to upload right away. People always try to justify themselves saying they don't have money and stuff... and I'm like ok bro fine, but the least you can do is not take more money from the author than you already do by reading it illegally. This is the author's career, they need money to survive and continue making webtoon. Like wh...... reply
yes, its better if its delayed and not just a few days but weeks. minimum of 1 week atleast and if youd ask me i actually prefer 2 weeks or more. ppl shouldnt be against this bc everything here is free u know? if u cant or dont support the author then atleast be patient since ur getting paid series/chaps for free, "beggars cant be choosers." it jus...... reply
This is such a controversial topic that I don't think will ever result in a general agreement, especially in a community like this. On one hand, there is absolutely an ethical argument to be made that uploading a paid chapter right away takes income away from the artist in a career that already doesn't tend to be very lucrative. On the other hand, ...... reply
I do agree that they should wait before uploading the chapters since Byeonduck and even other Lezhin creators ( manga, webtoon, comic etc.) put so much work into their art. Waiting for a week is fine with me, comic creators really deserves all of the support that they are getting. reply
