Am i too young for yaoi?
Hello! i'm a 12 years old fujoshi that lives in germany I began reading yaoi a year ago and i really love it! But i can't find any people that like yaoi and are in my age i'm always scared that people will say i'm too young or i probably don't understand it
I’m gonna be honest and say that I think you are. I’m not saying this to be mean. Yaoi is primarily aimed at and made for adults, who are (for the most part) capable of making their own decisions. Whereas, children (in general) are REALLY easily influenced. Like, TOO easily influenced for me to feel comfortable with them reading shit like this...... 8 reply
I'd say no, honestly. If you're able to seperate fiction and reality and know that alot of these things really shouldn't be practiced, then no. I'm a 13 year old and I started reading yaoi when I was 8. Really young, yeah, but I knew these things weren't reality or anywhere near something I should do in the near future.

Age doesn't define maturity so as long as you can differentiate the right and wrong or fiction and real, then you're good. I dont care even if you're 19 or 25, if you can't differentiate those then honey, be matured.

discovering stuff like yaoi at a really young age (i first read it by 10 sumn) really robs your innocence and i cant personally tell if thats a good or bad thing bc on the lighter side, at least you won't be that cultured shock anymore regarding those,, explicit content ,, but yeah being 12 and knowing shit could really take away some good shit in ...... 4 reply

i mean yes and no. if you're reading material like killing and stalking you're far too young. yaoi has topics like abuse and rape and a lot of the time this stuff is romanticized by either the author or the audience. i don't know your life, but if you're a normal kid this stuff is not stuff you should allow yourself to be exposed to at your age. ha...... 1 reply
