What's the cringiest type of main character out there? I personally dislike those overconfident MCs that think they can beat anybody with their skill or something when they LITERALLY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. Like eat some humble pie for fucks sake. Justify your arrogance.
I also find those edgy, revenge seeking, specifically male mcs that try to act nonchalant and use "dark psychology" or act like they're the smartest in the room, really cringe and funny to laugh at. Like calm down little bro you're a high school freshman, focus on passing your goddamn classes instead of brooding near the window.

For me when anyone brings up trans people and sports my alarm sets off. because I feel those who bring up that topic always have malicious reasons and aren't actually interested in finding a solution that would benefit all. I have a bit of a dilemma. Picture this if you will, I was just minding my own business in a coffee shop when some dude sat at my table. “I can’t help but notice that you’re reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins?”
“...Yes?” I responded, weirded out by this random dude at my table.
“I couldn't help but want to talk to you. I love reading. Especially feminist literature. Do you know Virginia Woolf by any chance?” The boy gestured as he took a sip of his matcha latte, rattling the labubu keychain hanging on his tote bag. We stared at each other for five awkward seconds until I bit the bullet and answered.
“I’ve read her for assignments and stuff.”
The boy was taken aback. I wanted to apologize and elaborate but I was interrupted. “I see. Yeah me too. I actually did a college paper on her weeks ago. I love going to college and actually learning instead of those frat boys you see partying and trying to hit up every girl on campus.”
“Uh..huh.”
“So like what do you listen to?” The boy shifted in his seat. “I love Clairo, Phoebe Bridgers and Billie Eilish. I think women just do music way better. Oh and fleetwood-”
“Hey…uh,” I stood up immediately. The boy almost looked offended before switching back to his neutral smile. “I gotta go…”
So I left. If I was any other girl I would’ve been falling all over and squealing at every word that blond boy said. But guess what? I’m not like other girls ;)

Like you sat down and you actually though about what you read/watch/played. Pointing out the flaws and praising the good. I remember doing this with Mob Psycho, trying to see what made it good. Nowadays I'm somewhat able to "turn my brain off". I still do have my shoulder critic though (づ￣ ³￣)づ

I think the worst "joke" a piece of media can do is to have a trope or a cliche in their story, and then call it out as if they in on it, meanwhile nothing is done to really subvert said trope or cliche and it's just there. For hypothetical ex. some guy in the main party ironically points out how they're doing a 'friendship is magic' thing but carries on with plot like normal. Hahahaha now laugh at how unoriginal we are. This shit is why I dropped Murder Drones.
Similar thing with lampshading, like yeah, yeah nonsensical thing is happening get on with it.
