It really depends what part you're talking about. If you're talking about artists who 'blackwash' characters in their art, then that's harmless as the original character will always exist and fanart of the character in their original form will always be abundant. Can't help with history (geography is better) but for eng lit literally just do past papers and memorise key points on the mark schemes. Also go over key quotes and make flash cards writing down analysis for specific ones. Also look into different themes that may come up (eg if you do macbeth, one of the themes is kingship).
