I really really like Kainess at the moment, i really enjoy nuance and complexity in my ships. I think the two are really interesting, a lot of people seem to think the reason Kaiser treated Ness the way he did was because he somehow didn't like Ness but it's not that, Kaiser puts on a show of confidence but he hates himself, he doesn't even think he's human, he is an emotionally repressed 19 guy who doesn't believe he's worth anything, he uses Ness for soccer because that's the only thing he enjoys and gives him worth and Ness could help with that, he doesn't hate Ness he loves soccer.
We learn through their official character profiles that they spend literally every hour of the day together, no one not even Kaiser would spend so much time with someone he dislikes out of their will just because. When Isagi and Ness scored and won the game and basically "took" what gave Kaiser a purpose is when he truly revealed his biggest and deepest insecurities to Ness, he already revealed his ugly sides and the fact that he used Ness but Ness stays because Ness unlike what many seem to believe is very emotionally mature and kind and also extremely loyal and he sees Kaiser for what he is a traumatized guy in need of serious help, Kaiser is a character that has lacked love his entire life and Ness is a character that is full of it it just took Kaiser to actually truly reveal himself and his insecurities for the two to be able to actually communicate and develop, obviously that doesn't excuse his treatment of Ness, Ness is just the "i can fix him type of guy" lol im really excited to see their dynamic change in the future even if it turns out in a way i don't particularly like I'll enjoy it anyway.
