Someone told me recently how they were raped by someone I went to school with a few years ago. many of the people on these communities are minors who can not afford therapy/has neglectful and abusive parents. the community is their safe space for them and venting spot. taking this away from them would just make their issues worse honestly.
i don't agree w/ some of the things they do, however, telling suicidal minors that they will be better off dead is fucking horrid and disgusting and you're part of the problem. i do have a personal bias because i did the same thing when i struggled w/ those issues and i'm still in that community. and all i can say the amount of times a local completed invalidated my issues when they were trying to ""help"" me is ridiculous.
if you're going to help people, please give them hotline numbers, how to escape their situation, and support instead of harassment and bullying.
