Ok, so I just finished reading the rose of versailles, and it made me cry. Right now, I want a happy romance manga to help me forget about it. I don’t care about when the manga was written, I just don’t feel like any yaoi right now. It’s the middle of the day and I prefer reading stuff like that at night. Thank you.

im sure y'all have noticed this too, but i've noticed a reoccurring theme, mostly in manga depicting queer relationships (but also in plain ol' shoujo manga too), is the fetishization of pedophilia, rape culture, incest, etc.. to anyone who answers this, do you happen to enjoy these tropes or do you tend to avoid it? do you read through, thinking "wow this is not okay at all but as long as they're happy", or do you think "this is seriously fucked up"? i'm genuinely curious as to what people think about storylines involving these tropes :) please be mindful of other's opinions and lmk what you think!

It sounds a bit strange, yes, but it is one of my unanswered questions in life. I've never liked someone romantically. No guy has made my heart go 'doki doki' or something similar to that. But that doesn't mean I turn a blind eye to those who are attractive. You might not believe me if I told you that I have NEVER liked anyone since birth.. but it's true. I came to a recent conclusion, and I think it has something to do with me being an anime otaku. It sounds unrealistic, but maybe me being one since 5 years old made me look at real guys in a non-romantic way. Weird, huh.

So when I was in 6th grade, I wasn't into gay things at that time (cuz I didn't know yaoi exists back then, I was still a child lol) but I was into anime. And I was scrolling through youtube and got stumbled upon an anime (which I didn't know that it was yaoi) so I watched it since the channel has all the episodes and was subbed and has a nice quality. So at first, I got into it because the boys were hot and cute (ya girl's a thot). The anime was about a boy who doesn't have a club and decided (I think he was forced?? I can't remember it now lmao) to join the photography club(?), And little does he know, that fucking club was full of gays, not just some cute and fluffy gays but HORNY ones. I thought they're some innocent club, but b o i. I was fucking wrong. THEY HAVE SO MANY DILDOS AHHHHH and my innocent eyes were in deep shock, SO they have sex every day and they took hundred of pictures of it. they were having a gangbang, threesome, and other kinky stuff that my innocent child-self couldn't believe. And OFC as a CHILD, I stopped cuz it was too much for me and it ruined my point of view of yaoi (it was my first time tho and I was still a child). And finally in 7th grade, I, myself that time wasn't innocent any more thanks to smut mangas/webtoons/novels I've been reading and decided to watch/read BNHA doujinshis on youtube and Mangago, and got into it (like REALLY into it) and finally got addicted to it till this day.

First of all, we're best friends for a half-year round already but we've known each other or seen each other already in a community we both go into for more than 2 years already I think? It just took us some time to be finally friends more than just strangers around the same community.

We became best friends through a game that we're playing for as long as our friendship is already, we even made more friends and a group of people to play along with. We grew even more closer as we get to know each other and our relationship with our exes, because for some coincidence we're both fresh from break-ups on the same day we get to be friends. Then days, weeks, months pass by; we became somewhat platonically romantic with each other even after our meet-ups. Which this makes me feel like I'm somewhat special or her being special for me. It's so confusing, but I kept silent and went along with the flow. But as days pass by I come to stressing this out lately because she makes me feel anxious, jealous sometimes that she doesn't even mean to.

And just recently, she's kinda distancing herself at me. I don't understand why because she isn't that type... She's open but won't reply to me. Nor seen me, even at the game we loved to play together. She wouldn't play with 'just me' but she'd come to play with me only if we're with the others. It makes me feel so anxious and sad that I don't understand why... we even have so much more plans to do together in the future.

I'm not sure about confessing yet nor for any relationship yet so I just kept silent. But as my best friend? This is making me sad. Why is she doing this? I just don't understand, I think it's better if I just kept myself shut and let her be if she wants to distance herself out.

reading bl is so exhausting for a number of reasons (at least for me) and yes it is not a representation of the community itself so it's honestly fucking disgusting when some would equate it to reality. it's also horrifying that individuals who are self-proclaimed homophobic would admit with their whole chest that they fetishize gay men and it makes me sick. plus the underlying misogynistic theme of a lot of bl titles
