Objectify? That’s a very strong word, and um, I don’t.
I don’t think I like that word.
But to be honest I am always surprise when I see gay men in real life (probably cause of my upbringing) but not to the point that it disgust me or use it for sexual release or something.
I respect their decision and I admire their courage to be open about...... 2 reply
I like yaoi because the characters are usually mature. There are shoujo where the hero/heroine are mature but it's not common and Josei has mature women but between drama and desperation to attract men, they don't act it. reply
I can only speak for myself- However, I'd have to deny that statement. I realise that manga and reality and two separate entities, as I'm sure some others will as well.
The only reason I read yaoi/yuri is because I'm lonely. I don't read it to fetishize friends or people who I meet who are homosexual- Because, In a way, that's just disrespectful. 1 reply
I totally can't agree with your friend. I love yaoi because they can have really good stories. I read a lot of manga, mostly yaoi but shoujo too, and yaoi has way more interesting storylines. Yaoi shows the insecurities of having to come out which straight couples don't have to deal with. As a lesbian I love seeing that in yaoi, the fight against b...... 1 reply
Of course I can only speak for myself, I do like looking at hot men and hot men banging each other. But most of all I read Yaoi for the good stories, that make me laugh, cry and adore the characters. reply
Some do, some don't. People generalize a lot and yeah, there are many reasons why people would think people who read yaoi objectify gay men. But as in everything else, you can't put all people in the same bag. Everyone's different and everyone has different reasons to read yaoi. I personally have trouble liking female characters in manga and anime ...... 2 reply

As for manga... I think, the first one was, Kamisama Hajimemashita. I don't know, how I ...... reply
I actually am in the art club of my school since 5th grade. (We're about 5-10 people and I'm the one who stayed the longest time lol) We do have some kind of teacher... but she's isn't a real teacher. More like a elderly person who looks out for us (she's really cool and funny tho). And since I like painting, drawing and that stuff so why not? reply

I was really shocked and guilty at the same time. I was like "Forgive me, my parents, for I have sinned." But yeah once I got used to it, it feels like reading yaoi scenes has become a huge part in my fujoshi life. And I got better at hiding when I read lemon scenes. (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) reply
'Things' are your daily life experiences by which you get to know the world around you. Tell others about the things you did, may it be cool, sad, crazy or funny. You can also find things that you might want to do and a friend to do it with!
