Is no one bothered by rape in yaoi?
I love yaoi, okay? Don't get me wrong. But are you seriously okay with the uke falling in love with the rapist/predator/paedo seme? Whatever the reason maybe for the seme to do it but this really really bothers me becoz most of the time it's becoz the seme is afraid to confess or some bullshit. Is it really love if you rape them? Not really. Sometimes I come across a yaoi rape scene that really upsets me but most of the time the uke isn't actually resisting. Usually it's a 'I don't know what's happening' or 'no but yes but no but yes' kind of thing. All rape is disgusting, and the sheer amount of it in the BL genre is astounding to me. The fact that so many "fans" don't even see it as rape, or even think it's hot, is extremely distressing to mature, sane people.

I understand where you're coming from but your argument about minors reading this is invalid in my opinion. Usually, since YAOI IS PORN it shouldn't be possible for minors to buy them legally (a lot of these are 18+ for a reason). It's because of scanlating, that we have easy access (thank god for all the scanlating groups out there).

I believe that manga in general is made for many reasons. People enjoy reading it to have a type of escape from reality, or sometimes for romance. I don't think the mangakas are trying to promote rape especially to children. I definitely am bothered by the amount of rape/dubious consent in yaoi. Unfortunately, the target audience of yaoi tends to like when there's some dubious consent and I'm not sure they really see rape as seriously as they should, especially since they are men.
