Came here after seeing the movie. There are some things I really appreciate, like the emphasis on the racism within the industry, but for the most part I liked the movie a lot more. There the contrast was more about Sugiri's desire for control and power clashing with Suzuki's freedom, while here it was more of a "both want to be the top" kind of thing and I didn't really appreciate it. I also found that the whole arc about the sibling dancers didn't really interest me, since it separates the main couple and most of the charm is their opposite personalities and ways of life coming together
