2/10 stars, the 2 stars is only because I like FL, Lisa, Pavel, Mrs Fitz (until the end when she tells ML to go after FL) and the interaction between FL and the royal family.

This was brutal to read until the end. You want a really quick synopsis of this? The song Toy by Block B is FL entire story with the ML.

It's take until CHAPTER 107 for the ML to actually show "love", and thats a strong word to use, and its more like chapter 120. Get the fuck out of here. That is 80% of the entire webtoon. I can't believe this has such a high rating despite all the emotional and mental abuse FL went through, not just by ML but everyone else. Everyone that is on FL side can be counted on one hand.

I thought he would slowly grow in his feelings, but ML is unbearable in every chapter. Even in later chapters he tells her to smile and even though she is faking it as she's in pain, he tells her to fake smile again while saying mentally that he has a right to a smile.

FL is treated like a pet goldfish that someone got for free at a fairground the entire time. Not even a pet dog or cat, at least they get attention.

Literally right after her miscarriage in chp 108, he is like oh time will pass and she will be able to conceive again.

Don't get me started on how he didn't care if she was uncomfortable with sex and said it was okay as long as he smiled at her afterwards. ML knows how much of a shithead he is, how neglectful and cold he is, even if you remove the entire Gladys drama, he is still the worst. I honestly wished that FL got with Pavel or the crown prince. Would've it been much more boring? Yes, but at least she would've been truly happy. He doesn't care about her emotions or the shit he puts her through, how her name is rubbed in mud the entire time, even the FL acknowledges that she would've been kept in the dark if it wasn't for Gerald's sister publishing the truth.

There is no excuse for his behavior, he has no sad background except for the Gladys thing, nobody else in his entire family is as hateful or awful. He didnt have a bad upbringing, his father isn't constantly trying to make him king (you know considering instead of forcing him to get better at writing, they just hired poets).

The title really does fit, but I thought it would be lovey dovey with just some miscommunication based off front cover. This is as toxic as a lot of BLs.

Does ML really know anything about FL except that she likes flowers? Because he always tries to buy her expensive things and not meaningful things (except the typewriter maybe?).

I dropped at chapter 128 because I know after is the redemption arch where FL forgives him and they live happily ever after despite him not apologizing or feeling sorry once. He even said she doesn't have the money or law or power to get a divorce from him in that same chapter and same breathe of saying "let's start dating".

And the fact that everyone else is on ML side saying they understand why he hid the Gladys thing when it is isn't the only shitty thing he did. Dude even got irritated at FL and thought she was in the way because he couldn't smoke a cigar at lunch. He should've stayed a bachelor instead of dragging FL into this. Don't forget his reaction when she first brought up divorce. Or when she revealed she knew about him doing a bet with his friends on who can get her first and he goes "So?". Lets not even talk about how he spents most of his nights out getting drunk or playing poker because he loves winning or FL embarrassing herself on the cruise due to ML. I haven't seen a single redeemable quality of his that could justify anything he's done.

Why include a honeymoon plot if she just spends it alone and he uses the excuse of diplomatic tasks to treat her like a ghost.

FL is just another prize to be one and the author allows him to win every time. FL is treated like a prostitute he paid for whenever they slept together and just hit it and run.

frankly this is a really good story, the writin is incredible the characters are written well, the arcs r well thought out, fl was reasonable ml made me wanna shove a dagger in his neck, it was infuriating to read

i cant be totally mad at the FL for forgiving the ML because it was resolved at her pace which im proud of her for, but also i still absolutely dislike the ML. he needed to beg and grovel and regret for his lack of action in how the FL was treated by the entire kingdom. despite my personal distaste for the ML, the story is solid. its got the drama, the heartache, and the comfort, so i think its def worth a read
