It's cute in a cloying kinda way. He's hurt by his family loss, and she's been wuvin' him all the while as she works as his secretary. Her moment is having a fake wedding using his name so her sister can find happiness. (Not sure how THAT was gonna work, but okay.(?)) He gets wind of it and decides to use it for a business advantage in his home country, and so they 'hitch' and fly into the great hot sands for some drama, fucking, fighting and reconciliation.
Wasn't that bad, it's chock-full-o'-assholes. Main duo, her family, his family (why he's twisted). She's headstrong, people had the wrong idea about her, but no one on her end attempted to clear the misunderstandings, and he couldn't be bothered. She's got her own faulty pride, and if she really meant 'NO', wrist grabbing wouldn't have stopped her, come on and fight! So these two stubborn dip-shits butt heads and create carnage, that's it
Right, so, this was erroneous, but interesting. Errors are to be expected considering the total subjugation/destruction of the old religions by newer ones. Anyway, she's a brokenhearted woman from a long line of witches and he's an angry, scruffy billionaire drawing graphic novels in obscurity. The pair are up against ancient evil and must destroy it together for the betterment of the world type of thing.
There's a big no no Bunny Foo Foo when she first tells him she's pregnant, but I get the feeling if she hadn't fainted, he'd be singing alto. Both of them are stubborn and hotheaded, but, honestly, I kept reading because I liked her parents, then his housekeeper and, finally, his mother, she's big and butch and awesome. I don't know, both leads tend to mellow out by the end of the tale, but that 'almost' scene could be a trigger for some people.
Well, I'm still debating this one. Half of me thinks it completely sucks manipulator ass, but the another half remembered the bit where she knew what he was doing, knew what he wanted and still subjected her stupid ass to it 'to get over him'. It takes two cheeks to make a proper ass and together these two are hot helium beach-balls in glittering Lycra bloomers. They complete each other. The kid, though, poor thing and she's so cute, too.
I can understand the marriage issue/split between the main couple, the heartache and trauma of losing a child plus that bitch, but what I can't wrap my head around is bat shit crazy and why NO ONE dealt with the issue BEFORE it became a cluster fuck. His sister destroyed their lives, for what? Shits and giggles? Because it's insulting to blame it ALL on mental health issues and even more aggravating that they FORGAVE her like all she did was fart.
Wow, that poor, sweet love-struck man. He's forgiving, patient, kind and loyal. ("Only in fiction", I say!) Then the girl, yes, GIRL because she's a fucking CHILD despite her age. Stupid, annoying, psychiatric ward needing, hotheaded MORON who is so mentally stunted she can't see a tree in the forest. I listed this solely for that darling man and how awesome he is for dealing with her crap and still wanting to stand by her.
Hmm, this is mostly from the man's perspective and how he chases down a one-night stand who disappeared on him. She was intoxicated not only on booze, but pills as well, so it's amazing she actually REMEMBERED her sexcapade with the hyperactive cowboy. He should have NEVER paddled out in that canoe, but there wouldn't be a story if he was that decent of a guy. Still, she seemed to be happy in the end, so...
Aww, it's so sweet. Small towns...God damn small towns and the gossip-mongering biddies and egotistical pricks who live there. He's not bad, though, he didn't notice her until he saw her low cut and trashy, but he accepted all aspects of her and was patient enough to let her emerge on her own. She's working hard as both librarian and bar-wench to support some extras for her dear sweet aunties. They're sweet together.
Ah, the psychological damage inflicted by the long term reign of a patriarchal/religious ideals. Men dominate and subjugate women, why? Haven't a clue. Hunter/gatherer societies were more advanced in that regard (Homo Neanderthalensis was not as backasswards as modern man, sad ain't it?) She's a VP and he wears the big wig; it's kinda cute she finds love, the sister and the little girl are sweet and he is hot, but that's it.
