This one is a classic - takes the "Hot boy falls in love with an ugly boy" stereotype to a new level. The uke is a freaking mess and it always makes me laugh. The seme is calm and collected, but when he loses his cool or gets embarrassed, it is a TREAT.
One of the BEST works I have ever read. This relationship is incredibly healthy and beautiful, the characters are SO likeable, and everything that happens feels incredibly natural. The uke is unlike any other uke I have seen before - he's cute, he's feisty, and he's 100% himself. The seme falls madly in love, and pretty soon just bends to whatever little Aki requests. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
*JUNJOU PART 1* The infamous Junjou Romantica... If you are brave enough to have your world changed forever, this is the read for you. For me, though, I've added it to my list because it was my first yaoi I ever watched (anime adaptation first), though I have always been off-put by the first episode/chapter casual rape scene. If you can power through that, the rest of the read/watch is extremely adorable and enjoyable!
*JUNJOU PART 2* This section of the Junjou Romantica franchise focuses specifically on side characters that you have encountered in the first manga! They are just as cute as the first couple, but also come with their fair share of emotional problems and baggage.
From the same mangaka who brought you Junjou Romantica, here is my personal favorite of the two, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi! I absolutely loved this story and pacing much more in the manga than the anime adaptation and Junjou Romantica. Highly recommend.
Yamamoto-sensei strikes again! Just like Honto Yajuu, this story is filled with unique characters. The uke is an honest priest who is trying to figure himself out, where these feelings are coming from, and why it bothers him so much. The seme is gentle with the oh-so-delicate uke who needs all the support and just outwardly loves him for who he is. It is SO sweet. Highly recommended!
A cute collection of 3 stories by Junko-sensei! I really loved the third couple the most (from chapter 4 onwards), and wasn't a huge fan of the second couple (brothers warning). I really enjoyed the dynamic between the first and last two, though - absolutely love them!
