Hetalia has stuck with me over the years as being one of the funniest, most thoughtful anime series I have ever experienced. I think about it more than I would like to admit... And it's applicable to so many situations in my life. It's a bit weird at first, but the outcome is OVERWHELMINGLY amazing. I recommend this one, 10/10.
One of the funniest and highly overlooked stories from the early 2000s! It has a wonderful anime adaptation with a unique, unforgettable style. While there are a few small problems with the plot, it is an interesting take on what the future may be like in terms of love and AI that is still relevant today. Highly recommended!
Rumiko Takahashi presents Weird Aliens! Seriously, this mangaka has been nicknamed "the mother of manga" for a reason. It all began here with the manga/anime Urusei Yatsura, and if you recognize the protagonist's outfit, it is highly referenced and used symbolically quite commonly in all modern anime. Due to its age, I would not classify this one as being a staple, but it is historically significant and a great read nonetheless.
Rumiko Takahashi presents Ranma 1/2! A hilarious story about a boy who falls into a cursed lake that will transform him into a woman. The plot seems crazy right off the bat, but this is a CLASSIC story - seriously. It doesn't get much better than this, with romance, comedy, action, and engaging storylines, there isn't really much else to ask for. It is quite old but still holds up fairly well today, as does the anime adaptation. Highly Recommended!
One of the cutest tropes EVER! Super tall girl and super short guy both become enemies on the first day of high school, but decide after a while, that it might just be better to work together to find each other a date. Then, the unexpected happens when she falls for him. It's heartfelt, it's genuine, it's hilarious, and the art is unique and fluffy. Absolutely floats my boat. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
