technically magical realism i feel like(?) like not enough realism given that this is a simulation so anything goes, but you know what, it's good enough.
less studio ghibli, more cryptic. this fucking story is like if slenderman's forest merged with every aspect of reality.
same vibes, but also not my cup of tea. has a very,,, slice of life??? idk. like episodic/weekly life experience that ties in together at the end. it's super good, im just more into action plots than philosophical/more thought provoking ones LMAO
i literally can't explain this. ive never read something so modern yet 90s at the same time. author is terrifyingly self-aware and this manga, being made in 2003, is weirdly modern in terms of social dynamics + representation, even accidentally. anyways: monsters, spirits, etc.
western studio ghibli but in a questionable format. so basically cartoon network
uh. uhhhhh??????¿¿¿¿¿ü˙h¨h ?? adventure time, come on grab your friends, we'll go to very, distant lands with jake the dog and finn the human
the fun will never end

different brand of the genre i was going for, but still qualifies. 10/10 the lore and character designs.
