This reads like an LGBT movie you'd find nominated at Sundance! The atmosphere was on point, the angst pierced my heart a thousand times, and the happy ending was well deserved. The only things i don't like are the cover and the resolution with the MC's family.

I like Kyuugou's writing. They're always able to turn a cliche and overused trope into something worth your time. This one's not special in terms of plot and characters, but the progression of the story feels natural and pleasant to read.

The confession scene is my favorite in a while. And man, hirokuni's fear of leaving his toxic workplace because it was his only source of self-assurance is too close to home. Not really a big fan of the dynamic of the couple but everything else made up for it. A good hurt/comfort story.

A good read! Author did well in writing how trauma works, how you can have the most loving environment and still be haunted by the horrible things that'd happened to you. I love that the MC's trauma didn't magically disappear bc he was loved. He had to first admit that something was wrong with him, ask for help, and get a proper therapy before he got better--and that's how it is in real life.
