Horror, wish-fulfillment
its a lot like Brutal except a bit more psychological like ooo who was the real cause of the issuueee, was the customer in the right??
"At a certain park, there is a mysterious man, who has red eyes and a black suit, that people can go to and request him to kill someone. His strength is in the power of suggestion and the arrangement of events. He accepts these requests, all the while privately mocking the foolishness of those whose unwise wishes"
really cool story and i do love a big cat. the art starts out kinda bad but gets a lot better!
"When the team is called to investigate the murders of three Humanitherian activists, it soon becomes clear to Dex that getting his partner and the rest of the tightknit team to accept him will be a lot harder than catching the killer—and every bit as dangerous."
this is a lot more mid than the other stuff, but i do love youkai stuff
the art is just.. hm.
"Arata Miyako is a new government worker assigned to the Shinjuku Ward Office's "Nighttime Regional Relations" department. Each of Tokyo's 23 wards has one such department, which were established to solve paranormal and occult-related events. Arata can understand non-human speech that no one else understands."
this is good but dark
"An unlikely pair and their adventures in the mythical past. Burly ronin Kusanagi looks after the physical well-being of various characters the two come across, while the slight, "blind" Sensai attends to their spiritual predicaments, granting wishes in exchange for souls."
classic josei about an exorcist, its very fun and the fashion is gorgeous
ending is a little rushed, but at least there is an ending
"It's shocking enough that the daughter of a pastor is possessed by a ghost, but what's more shocking is that this ghost is a young oppa who sports a fashion that surpasses most of the outstanding looks of bachelors and rockers! From this day on, Zion's life changes forever. From a shy and unsuspecting high school student, she turns into an exorcist."
this is really good although the ending is weirdly rushed (why does this keep happening on this list!!)
also, it has an anime, and I think it was pretty good
"Ashiya has spent the first seven days of high school stuck in the infirmary because of a "mononoke" attaching itself to him. He ends up asking the owner of a small tearoom - Mononokean - for help."
horror-based, yokai, and super mysterious
"Shoutaro is a man of few words. He manages a used books store called Mononobe Koshoten and has an efficient young boy named Shiro to help out with the work while he reads the day away. But behind this normal and mundane facade Shoutaro has another job: the collection of some rather unpleasant old books…"
this is so beautiful!! I wish there was more though.
"This manga is about an isolated restaurant where you tell the chef your worries and he cooks up some seafood for you. The owners of the restaurant are a black cat and a witch."
Rating: bread/10
"A mysterious mobile bakery, Mimura Bread, is making it's way around town! Bread so fluffy and golden brown that you'll never forget the taste. The owner, Mimura, seems to have a nose for people in trouble and bakes just what they knead to soothe the heart. What recipes and troubles await?"
I mean technically it's a whole convenience store solving problems but let's not get hung up on the details.
"A quiet convenience store hovers on the boundary between life and death. Its faint glow in the darkness draws people toward it, pushing them closer to the final purchase they'll ever make…and is that a monster in the magazine aisle?!"
