oh how the turntables...
black bird but gay, and the plot consists only of "fuck or die" Snooze-worthy. 2.5/5 stars.
living in close quarters with your porn fetish, library sex, meta commentary on fujoshi, good gags, a semeless *seemless translation from Nakama, long-time veterans. Overall, very funny, sex-drenched read with heart. Crack. 5/5 stars.
Homes of Meiji Era, but not enough architecture. Set the mood, an atmospheric piece with slow simmer. Portrays depression, making the main character seem weak-willed and unlikable, but I only found the pain his indecisiveness brought to his loved ones to be relatable. It was beautiful, and a very elegant, peaceful read. 5/5 stars.
cw: suicide
Rueful and nostalgic, it ended at the right moment, last page's shadow and light was so evocative. 4/5 stars.
Gay yakuza. Literally the purest and sweetest love story (in prison) of all time, not even a single fucking fart between them, despite scenes of eye gouging, chipped front teeth, and furniture bashing. A healthy dose of drama and fluff and violence. What's achieved here is unique and works. Will read more of this author's work (boat story)

KINOSHITA Keiko
This short story collection is full of compelling storytelling - quickened my heart rate and made it hard to look away even when every story piece dripped with darkness, negativity, and shadow. The translation work on ch3 is stunning, thought-provoking. Not a pleasant read, but so beautiful and sublime. ch5 told from the perspective of what would be a perfect shoujo manga heroine was both gutwrenchingly funny and touching. 5/5 stars.
cw: graphic, underage, homophobia, blood
author drew self with a 999999, thought that was rather funny. less isolated a concept but obviously a sequel. 3.5/5 stars
