Ok so, I'll be listing some major events.
1. Nian nian asks for a divorce after being kidnapped and tortured. The real person who was supposed to be kidnapped was actually shen luo'an (side hoe) but shen did shits and nian was kidnapped instead. Later, after divorce, Gu shit found that nian called him but under the influence of alcohol, he didn't go save nian nian and nian ended up being severely tortured. He was in a horrible state while he was asking for divorce (physically). It is later revealed that Wen Nian Nian was the one who saved Gu Yansheng in the alley and not Shen luo'an. Shen luo'an was just a list who wanted everything good for himself. ( Out of all the worst thing he did, one of the baddest one was when he bullied Wen Nian Nian and Gu Yansheng let him). And the reason why Wen Nian Nian was not there when Gu Yansheng woke up was because Wen Nian Nian had tricked the kidnappers by wearing Gu Yansheng's clothes and running, pretending to be him.
One of the major key items I this danmei is the "musical note necklace" which had actually belonged to Nian Nian and was an important possession left by his mother. Hi Yansheng initially thought that the necklace belonged to Shen luo'an before a picture of Wen Nian Nian's childhood was posted where he was wearing the necklace. Hi Yansheng was SHOOK. THIS led to him investigating the incident to find out what really happened and if luo'an was not his savior and was just a liar who took advantage of him.
When all the truth is revealed, Gu Yansheng tortures Shen luo'an and keeps him tied in the basement (where he is regularly tortured). But shen luo'an did say some real things. He said how it was not only his but also Gu Yansheng's fault since Gu Yansheng also abused Wen Nian Nian physically, mentally and emotionally.
Hi Yansheng after regretting becomes a literal " I'm sorry please come back to me" chanting scum. Although he acts that way, it doesn't really feel like he's repenting by his actions. For example, he kidnaps and takes wen Nian Nian despite Wen Nian Nian's reluctance. He also constantly breaks into Nian Nian's personal space and gets super possessive despite them being divorced !!!!!!!! *Eyeroll*
On the other hand, when Nian Nian was admitted to hospital because of being horribly injured, we see how good of a person Tang shuo ( supporting ml) is. He cares for Nian Nian and is possessive but not like Gu Yansheng (who is possessive in a disgusting way). Although Tang shuo has his flaws here and there, he's actually a pretty decent guy who would've probably treasured Wen Nian Nian if not for them being in the wrong universe. Tang shuo.....well, he's supportive, possessive but not overly, understanding, inall a good guy.
My favorite moments were probably when Gu Yansheng was trashed on by Nian Nian's fans on internet and when he got coldly rejected by Wen Nian Nian.
Overall, the whole novel is just a dogblood drama.

Unfortunately for me and for other reader's, it's Gu Yanshit. But fortunately, he got some pain, and by some, I mean SOME. I wish he suffered a bit more. Atleast, I wish he was kidnapped and locked in a basement so that he could know how it felt like to be put in that situation.

I just wish our baby would leave that ugly black haired guy. He treats him like trash, doesn't respect or believe him. I want our bby to be able to achieve his dreams and start to let go of this toxic relationship. I want them to part and then the Black haired guy should realize how stupid he was. But our baby will ghost him and tell him that he already told him!!! And leave this fucker miserable while he is a famous pianist!!!!
