unpopular Opinion.

I personally feel erens rushed feelings for mikasa was superficial. you see eren never not even once looked at mikasa at romantic way. he always teeated mikasa and armin equally. eren was always busy towards his end goal. at first it was "killing all titans" and then "freedom". he wasn't the type who could spare a thought for romance. It would have been nice if they didn't shove the forced feelings on our face. moreover. mikasa isnt the type to sit under a tree and sob over erens death. if you guys remember when she thought eren died for the first time. she did not mourn instead ahe was too busy trying get armin out of the situation. she only cried when she found out eren was alive. anway this is my opinion. and you all dont need to agree with me. so dont hate on me for having this opinion. your views are more than welcomed though.

I also thought erens feelings were a bit out of nowhere but i didnt rlly mind. Far as mikasa goes, i think it makes sense for her to cry. When eren "died" the first time, she actually did cry just before she was abt to let the titan eat her. The reason why she didn't cry straight away when armin told her eren was dead was bc she knew her friends were depending on her in that moment, but after it sunk in, she got depressed and started to cry(she was even abt to let the titan eat her). She acts the same way in the end of the story; she doesn't cry when she kills eren, but after the fact when it finally sunk in that he was gone.

I think when it comes to Eren, Mikasa has always been the emotional type, but she just didn't show it. In both instances when Eren died, you can see she becomes shut off and silent. She's hiding her emotions. After the first death and finding out Eren is alive, she cried because the emotions spilled. In Eren's second death, after coming to terms that he's actually dead, for her to sit under the tree and cry, that actually makes perfect sense.

The romance on Eren's end, however, doesn't make sense to me either. Eren must be a hardcore neglect play enthusiast or smth, to spend all those years avoiding the person you love.

I one hundred percent agree with you!!! The romance felt so forced. I prefer this Reddit edit of the final chapter where eren says he doesn’t love mikasa as more than family. In the end, mikasa decides to accept jean’s marriage proposal and tells eren that she’ll live her life with no regrets instead of moping over him.

Since the beginning Eren has had one goal which was to save humanity, right? What type of person would have time to divulge in feelings like love if they were in Eren’s position? It was obvious to me that Eren loved Mikasa, especially during when they almost kissed in season 2. Isayama has been hinting at this for ages, but he’s not writing a romance manga.
