This is BS man. Just that it's licensed doesn't mean scanalators should stop. Look at viewfinder, ten count, vampire knight, just about almost many mangas are freakin licensed and this is an exception?

What about Naruto, bleach, and one piece? Then that should've been stopped but it didn't.

Licensed series does put off lots of scanlation teams. The more ethical ones. Now, there are scanlators willing to break the law that far, while being fully aware of it, thus making them downright criminals. Just that none showed interest in scanlating Love Stage!! apparently.

The more a licensed series is popular the more likely these sort of scanlators will pick them up, obviously.

Oh, and for One Piece, there was at one point a scan provider that got arrested in Japan. Probably there has been other instances of that type of thing happening I'm not aware of. Mmh.

    Nnene September 19, 2016 6:28 pm

The scanlating team working on Finder before the current one received a DMCA notice and had to stop. In Japan they don't seem to meddle with DMCAs, they get straight to arrestations when they have the proofs.

It's just not as much frequent in foreign countries as it is in Japan or China. Every country have their own way of handling copyrights, language barrier, it ends up being much of a hassle. That's pretty much what scanlators of licensed series rely onto, hoping that the publisher will think it's not worth the hassle. As well as using lots of tactics, blurring their traces online, private groups, hiding IP and whatnot. The more it's popular the more that is needed.

So really, I'm just assuming you're not informed well enough into what you're actually participating into. It's not about exceptions, it's just about if someone that can scanlate is interested into becoming a criminal for Love Stage lol. Especially since Sublime, the English publisher, is selling digital copies of the volume worldwide, and that the series is nearly finished.

And obviously the ones interested are the type of people that have a kick out of having attention from people, leeching on an author's work. You don't need artistic talent to have a following, you just need to take a great work and translate it just to give it off for free online! Whine a bit that it took "hard work" (basically, they worked up to a couple days in their free time if they're slow lol, the quick ones make it in half a day), and everyone will applaud you and treat you like a godsent.

Just look at Sekaiichi Hatsukoi's previous scanlator, itsdaletos. A total mess, went as far as saying it was HIS scans and would not tolerate anyone "stealing" them, calling them disrespectful. Then went and bullied publicly directly some of the people that mistakenly posted crops of the scans onto their own tumblr. Lol, pure hypocrite just wanting people to find his tumblr and read it there. By that logic he was not respectful of the author himself, how can he expect others to not do what he's guilty of doing himself...

Anyway, it just icks me when people don't take the time to inform themselves to understand fully how piracy works, so there you have it :)

But people still scan them and even it's a crime they still continue to scan it. Like isn't Ten count popular and licensed like Love Stage!! ? So what's the point of scanning Ten Count but Love stage can't?

I want to read this to the very end but it's unfair and makes no sense that this is an exception while almost every (I mean every) mangas can be scanned? They're all breaking the law but Love Stage is untouchable as if it's like holy book or something.

It makes no sense and stupid reason. I want to read the raws but I can't understand Japanese, plus this site is a pirating English free manga.

Yeah, but no one's interested in scanlating this perticular series it if it's a crime. The previous scanlation team dropped it because of that. It's just how it is. And Sublime is relatively new, and offers quality products which was not the case at all for most other English yaoi publishers. And they added the digital option for their more popular titles. That changes the yaoi scene slowly but surely.

Ten Count is more popular, actually. Volume 4 was the #1 best yaoi seller last year in Japan and Volume 3 was #3, while Love Stage volume 6 was #15.

Nevermind raws, you can probably shell out 5$ when Sublime sells the last volume. Actually, maybe volume 5 already has a few chapters that aren't here, you can pick it up as will if so.

    Nnene September 19, 2016 7:06 pm

Oh yeah, and the previous scanlation team still publishes summaries of the new chapters FOR Love Stage!!:
    http://bl-now.strawberrywine.org/

That's another thing that keeps people from scanlating it, most are happy with summaries as a mean to wait for the official volume releases.

totally agree besides the manga already over so there is no problem to complete translating the two last volumes

You know, the manga stays licensed even after it's completed, they still sell copies.

Pirates be pirates anyway, but lol, some just come up with the weirdest justifications.

I have always liked this manga bec. of it's innocence, the couple stumbling toward each other. It is chessy and sometimes melodramatic bec. first time love can be that way. I'd like to see some dj from time to time of them afterward.(I hope).

That's just the reality of being a teenager.

While you're admitedly in a grey area, it doesn't mean it's "fair" to steal someone's livehood and enjoy it at leisure. You can find another hobby in the meantime that you get access to your own credit card, since this manga or any other on this website is clearly not a basic human need, and authors as well as publishers owe you nothing.

    Nnene September 21, 2016 8:14 am

The only people here being "unfair" to you are your parents, in this case. Not that scanlations are not available and the manga costs something.

And really, since you want to ask for their money, it's their own, they can do what they want with it, that's only fair as well.

I'm just talking about ethics though, I'm not against teenagers reading scanlations if they have no means to support the official releases and it's out there aha. But saying this and that should be scanlated, or else it's unfair, uh...

And yet you're here in this pirated site. You talk like "oh I giving you what's right and wanting mangas scanlated is wrong" but you do know that everything here is illegeal

Lel, what's with those reading skills. All I'm arguing about is how "unfair" or not it is that the series is not currently scanlated.

Honestly, I just think it's pathetic to take such shortcuts in your thinking to convince yourself that this is unfair if it's not scanlated. I may enjoy scanlations every once in a while, but it's not because I think it should be given to me for free. It's just tempting as it's become incredibly easily accessible. I'm guilty of that, certainly. I would gladly buy the official weekly/monthly releases Viz and Yen Press offer (do people here even know about those though?), alas I ultimately rather buy it in book form as Japanese tankobon are just gorgeous and reading physical is the best. I did try digital a bit, but I always end up forgetting about my purchases lol, so it's just a waste. Which is not the case for anime, as it is a digital medium to the core, so I support Crunchyroll fully. And if a series I'm interested in is old and finished, I don't read it there, I take the opportunity to support the local libraries. Oldies such as Evangelion are perfect for that.

Nevertheless, I make sure to support the series (I can because I don't let myself gobble 400+ titles like some here do lol, I have been reading 4 in the last year), so if scanlations weren't out there it wouldn't be the end of the world. I'd just get less frequent updates. Basically, what it was when I was enjoying mangas before I knew scanlations even existed lol.

I don't have that much of an issue with people relying only on scanlations, as anyway lol they're getting the leftovers with inconsistent translations etc, just think more intelligently about what you're doing and be aware of what it is. It's like people forget authors are just as human as them. That's what rubs me the wrong way ^^'
