I get that entirely, but his lack of communication led to the downfall of his relationship, his insecurities overwhelming him, etc. The seme had never done anything that would lead him to believe he would be happier, let alone attracted, to a woman. Its not like sexuality is a choice and he can wake up being like "wow, i want to fall in love with a woman and have children".
