While I totally agree with you. I also think its important to consider context. Otherwise, youd be writing off a lot of contextual details placed by the author. In this case, I think it's ok with the intent of comedic relief. especially since we dont see the main couple get into toxic situations.
Outside of this series though, I do agree that petty jealousy is used as a dumb plot aspect a lot of the time. In which case, I usually drop the series.

Totally agree with your point, it feels very weird. Very weird and possessive in a way that the ML doesn't really showcase anywhere else in the manhua. Kinda feels out of character too with how much the ML does everything to make the MC happy in any other situation. But what can you expect from a chinese manhua... The tropes gotta happen for the audience to be happy I guess......
