I'm not looking for debate just think it's okay

I think there's a lot of nuance here.... The director has been portrayed as someone who doesn't understand how to navigate social situations very well and is actively working to change that, though there are ups and downs with that and their motivations are still unclear

Minato is deeply traumatized by his childhood and is unstable as a result but is trying really really hard to navigate that. He slips up sometimes - lashes out and is physically or verbally violent in brief moments but that doesn't define his character and we can see where he's coming from and how hard he's trying.

Shizuma is burned by getting cheated on in the past and is self-admittedly obtuse when ppl don't explicitly tell him what they mean, so he thinks that open affection can make up for communication issues, and has to learn to navigate his work life balance and be more mindful of his actions

None of these people are being evil or malicious on purpose they're just complex and messy I get that it's kind of frustrating to have prolonged drama when you're hoping for domestic bliss but I actually like seeing a couple work through issues and I like seeing rude or antagonistic characters like the director get depth and learn how to behave ..... Am I alone in this

THIS !!! Everyone is fairly flawed which drivens the issue they're having right now. I also thought that everybody forgot about Minato's trauma so I'm glad you pointed it out! ┗( T﹏T )┛

Welp, I agree with you on everything. It’s just that personally, I am a person who can relate more to Minato than to Shizuma and what Shizuma finds hard to do because of his personality, I think of as only common sense. However, I do realize that they both have problems they need to work on for the relationship to work, as you’ve said so I don’t like it even more when seeing so many comments that say Shizuma is already very good and does not need to do anything, it’s Minato that’s oversensitive and the real problem. I just get so worked up but I have to start everything by stating what I see as Minato’s problems before stating what I think he’s trying to and has already done about it because I don’t want people to misunderstand and say I’m just hating on Shizuma just to hate before I can even point out where Shizuma is lacking as the other person in the relationship and how he still has to learn how to solve his own personal problems of not being able to set up boundaries not just in his workplace with his colleagues (for a healthier work-life balance and a healthier work environment where his personal time does not get unreasonably exploited out of work hours and his fellow intern does not get unreasonably jealous of him over unfair treatment) but with his ex also (just that we don’t see him interacting with his ex very much anymore so it’s ignored and not brought up but it’s still there because it’s part of his friendly and open personality).

Everyone is flawed in this story and that's what makes the story interesting. But I'm still pissed off at shizuma and the director nonetheless. ( ̄∇ ̄")
Minato is already building up his character development. Now we just have to see whether shizuma will get his shit together or not. (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
