"I don't understand JP but I used a translator" not that I don't appreciate the effort but this is becoming a trend and it sucks cause so many nuances can be lost if not translated properly. Why not just use the time put into this to actually learning the language

Lots of dislikes on this comment but what you're saying is 100% true. Automatic translators do a mediocre job most of the time, and it's even worse with japanese as this language heavily relies on context. I don't mind them doing this with mangas that have been dropped for a really long time and have not been officially released yet but lately so many people are just rushing on new mangas just to be the first translators even though they can't speak english nor japanese and don't know how to edit properly, it's just getting worse and worse. This one is okay but as you said, sadly, many nuances have probably been lost in the process. Let's hope that we will get the official scans very soon.

if it matters so much to you, just learn the language yourself and read the raws instead of coming to a piracy site dawg

LOUDER LMAOOOO bc I'm just saying, if you don't like mtls , or bad translation, yes complaining is fine but do just do the illegal translation yourself

Lol, well, for your information I actually do know the language. I'm a translator and a cleaner but I'm already working on other projects.

And I'm saying all this BECAUSE I'm a translator that learned from scratch just to translate shit. I already practice what I preach mate.

Oh 100%. The ones that don't even have the bare minimum of proofreading are just abysmal.

There's one story I know that people ended up not liking the story because the TL was all over the place but they didn't know that. Lots of things were missed but because that was the only TL, readers just relied on it until the official came out and the mistranslations were corrected that people enjoyed the story for his it was meant to be enjoyed.

well in that case, surely you understand that if a translator is an inexperienced one, it'll be a like this story's case, so instead of commenting, maybe point out some mistakes for them or smth? smth more useful than what your initial comment was saying.
"i already practice what i preach" yea then? do smth abt the story's translation if you don't like it lmao.

listen I'm not trying to be offensive but when you talk all this talk but make no action to back it up, it's really weird to see, esp when in light of someone's effort. yes i might not know you or the original translator's work and effort, but pls imo, it's not nice to take the moral high ground of "why not take the time to learn the language first" bc idk, you seem like you also don't know this person, what do you know abt their efforts?

"I practice what I preach" this was really for you and the other user. It's pretty clear from both your tones that your were trying to make some point by making your own judgements that I don't know Japanese. If I really wanted to take the high ground, I'd include it in the original post.

And point what mistakes? They didn't translate it themelves, they used a machine to. The basics start with learning kanji. There's no point in me doing that if they don't understand the fundamentals cause they won't get it.

And again, I did say I appreciated the effort they put in and to learn the language instead but it doesn't mean I'm dismissive of what they're trying to do. They'd benefit a lot in teaching themselves which has been my entire point. I was in their shoes once which is why I'm saying it. Just use the time you put into using machine translations and try learning Japanese. That way they'll be able to TL more manga in the future. And properly, too without misinterpreting what the actual story might say. I don't know how much more I can slam this point down jeez.

"do smth abt the story's translation if you don't like it lmao."

I like how you're like "I'm trying not to be offensive" right after that. You're words don't match your tone.

And though I'm not obligated to, I would if I didn't have other stuff to translate. I'm not gonna just drop what I'm already working on just because I don't like it???
