Ummm....Isn't the point of the story, to change the OG mc's fate. That's why he(Mc now)declined Lauren's request on becoming his ghost writer, because that's the cause of why the OG mc got killed in the first place.. (sorry my English isn't good)

Not saying he's good, but it might be because he's severely insomniac? Honestly, it's overreaction, but it's not like he did it unprompted. And the book romanticised wars, so I can see how he would hate it to that point.
