This is the dark side of YAOI. Welcome aboard~!
Highly advise not to read this if you are a high moral person who cannot turn away from justice.
The reason people continue to read this because they both match each others freak.
They're both crazy for each other in their own ways. If it were a normal person, they would have turned away, but NO.
Hayden may look like a green flag, but it's evident that he's just the same as Brett (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
They're both toxics. Hence, ppl are loving to see two toxic partners.
hello~ I'm sorry people aren't being too nice, but what they say is true. Readers here don't care about morality like they would if these were real people~ as someone said, it is the dark side and it's fine :) may I advice you to read something like [Our Sunny Days] , [Perfect Buddy], [Spinach Bouquet] or [Semantic Error]? I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for in these~
I’ll choose this loser comment to reply to the rest. First and foremost yes I have read and enjoyed the story which is why I am so far in it? Let’s use our brains here. The fact is, no one seems to acknowledge that it is still very much SA regardless of how gay or toxic the characters are. I simply pointed that out but because yall can’t resist getting your dicks (and let’s be frl I know the majority of you have vaginas) wet you want to disregard themes like these when they are presented in favor of ‘oh sex’ ‘oh dick in ass’. If your brain was as big as the boner you have everytime you see two guys kissing you’d also realize I have other comments under this story talking about how in depth in can get. How a lot of the things referenced are forwarding and overall it’s a really good complex story especially for how grey and honestly red the characters are. So no, I don’t want to hear ‘oh you should find stories with green flags’ which I’m not shitting on the person who replied that cause I have read and am enjoying some of the stories they recommended.
Once again, you can enjoy a story while still calling out the things it is very much showing you. It is SA. There’s no excuse for that.
Another comment also referred to the fact that Hayden thought he raped Brett during his rut. YES! And you know what he did after? Prepared him to end up behind BARS! Cause guess what? Rape BAD! Idk why the fact that I call rape out means I have to drop a story and be bombared with the brainless. Let’s all put on our thinking caps people. Find somewhere else to vent too cause I ain’t gonna entertain it.
Critical thought?
This is yaoi, abo subgenre. There is SA from the beginning. Why are you complaining about a recent chapter? Either you drop it from the beginning and move on or just enjoy the parts you like. don’t patronize readers because you don’t like a part but enjoyed all the other SA parts in the beginning or rationalize why it’s ok for YOU. That’s condescending af
you can be a passive, uncritical consumer if you want to. other people can analyze and criticize things if they want to. does the plain statement that a character is doing something immoral detract from your apparent enjoyment of it? someone making simple observations doesn't have to be a problem for you. don't like, don't read! go ahead and apply that to comments, too.
now where did op or I say this was bad? we're all reading because this is an interesting story about characters crossing lines with each other. what's so terrible about acknowledging or recognizing that sometimes their actions or behaviors are problematic or immoral? that's the whole point that they're there! that's something well within the bounds of polite discussion. op merely made a statement of fact, shared a concern, and didn't even make a quality judgement on this series, so I said something supportive to them.
I don't know why people act like you can't like something while disliking some parts of it or thinking it could do some parts differently.
for what it's worth, I pay for the official release for this one, I just come on here for more comments.
Hello. This thread keeps on ringing in my notifications quite a while now, so I was curious what's this about LOL, and... I've found out I was the first replier ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Here's my thoughts:
I kind of get both sides.
One side pointing a fact that no consent from either party is a sign of sexual abuse/harassment/rape — and that is not right and shouldn't be condone or tolerated. Their question, why are the readers acting like this should be NORMAL? Why isn't anyone questioning about this? We could read & find this kind of stories interesting, BUT we don't condone this kind of actions. At the end of the day, this is all wrong — simply pointing out facts. That's it. No harm intended.
One side is... any form of sexual abuse/harassmet/rape is of concern of you — simple: DO NOT READ, especially if you'll keep complaining about 'no consent shouldn't be normalize or it is wrong', because this story IS a toxic story, so it will, therefore, involve those scenes. Moreover, readers are HIGHLY AWARE of these nonconsensual actions from both characters, they just don't say it because the moment they read this, they ALREADY KNEW from the very beginning — that is the sole reason it has piqued their interest because it's so complex, and when it's complex, it's difficult to comprehend. When something is difficult to comprehend, we kept wanting more and learn and find these complexities and in-depthly such an interesting to read. To simply say — once you read this, you already knew what you've gotten yourself into, so to point out "consent" in an "obvious non-consent story" doesn't make any sense at all. It's like saying "water is fire" because they're polar opposites.
Therefore...
Both points taken. No one is wrong. All are right. We all have different perspective in this. However, it's interesting to know each readers' opinions about this.
I think I've summarized each side's answers into one paragraph, so if I've somehow missed your points, do comment.
Anyways, it's a good discussion to tackle! If you all have more thoughts, feel free to comment. I'm up to read and get your insights — it's sooo interesting ヾ(☆▽☆)
Happy reading, fellow BL readers~!
I question the labeling of this series as an "obvious non-consent" story when a big part of the plot and character dynamics are the pains the characters go through to get what they want from a mutual agreement. i'd say consent features quite heavily, actually, which is one of the reasons I've been keeping up with it. the story itself grapples with consent in multiple ways (see brett and Hayden's initial disagreement on self-control vs instincts and brett seeking out masochistic pleasure with Hayden vs Brett being sexually assaulted/raped, for example).
just gonna say that if you dislike people 'pointing out the obvious' like op apparently did, then it's best to just ignore and avoid engaging in the first place. treat it like you would someone commenting "wow, the sky is blue in this panel" or "omg they're kissing!". it doesn't have to get to this long of a reply chain if people don't try to pull some weird one-upsmanship about never having any issue with or commentary to make about rape/SA or general abusive behavior in a story. if you don't care to meaningfully engage with it, downvote and move on. don't like, don't read can apply to comments too.
As a BL reader this story is barely the most controversial. Even non BL stories get these comments but the op commented,
“ The fact is, no one seems to acknowledge that it is still very much SA regardless of how gay or toxic the characters are.”
This irks me so bad. It’s condescending af. The controversial topics and scenes are from the get go so ppl staying to read understand that. It’s like they want us to feel bad while they also tune in every update for more but from a high horse.
You are right, everyone can just ignore each other. However if you want to come into a space where someone is illegally uploading work for the enjoyment of others and be annoying then you’ll get responses. Discussing the characters’ actions and how they’re right or wrong is fine but to comment how no one HERE is getting upset about the progression of the story and go on a condescending tangent isn’t savory.
This is so wild to see lmao. Never expected this to suddenly get active again but lemme clarify some points I made in my OG post and what my perspective is: 1. With the whole “Red Flags from the beginning, complaining about consent in a non-consent story” part, thing is there is consent in a very fucked up way. This story honestly falls more under dubious than non-consent and even then it would actually be the bottom raping the top since he was going through his rut(not an excuse) and bottom literally planned for the situation to happened.
Anyways, the reason why I bring this up is cause it was actually acknowledged right afterwards that the situation was fucked up by BOTH of them when they were in the office and I pointed out how the top wasn’t ready to go to jail cause of it. Literally everything from then on was consensual unless I’m forgetting smth specific cause I haven’t read in a while but just as reference , the one time the bottom felt like he was out of his depth, he used his safe word. They DIDNT continue into non-consensual territory!
Next, the whole “you’re reading illegally so you don’t have a right to complain!’ No. That’s just plain out wrong. Having an opinion or even discussing the story itself does not influence the story in any way and it’s not like we’re mailing the author death threats.
Same way how you would watch a show at home and discuss it with your friends about your favorite characters, what scene you hated and so on, it’s the same thing happening here. It’s not baseless, It’s critiquing and just cause I’m not giving the author money right now does not mean I need to just eat everything I’m being fed without some complaint. It’s through illegal sites that many are able to fully experiment and find works that they like and I don’t know about you but I have been saving works to buy as soon as I get the chance because I like them that much.
I think the last point is about my comment here: “The fact is, no one seems to acknowledge that it is still very much SA regardless of how gay or toxic the characters are.“
Keyword that got pointed out is ‘NO ONE’ . Don’t really get how this is condescending. My tone was more about ‘ain’t anyone seeing ts?’ Cause I scrolled for a while and none of the comments had any type of discussion. They were legit all the same copy and pasted comment being excited over sex. I think that’s honestly my fault for expecting much from this comment section(being legit here. Don’t run off saying this is condescending again).
The types of sections I’m used to are full of people thinking about what the character’s actions mean, how will the story develop, what are some things I missed in the background, etc etc. and I was disappointed when I didn’t see that because THIS is one of those stories that has a lot going on in the background. Seeing nothing about that just felt like it was reduced to just those generic BLs.
Once again, I don’t care about your morals and I’m not gonna tell you ‘omg you should feel bad about this, why don’t you?’ Like bruh. Dont think I said the story was controversial either. There is far worse stuff out there that people are lapping up.
If I said smth and you think ‘but I would never do that, I know better yada yada.’ Then I’m not talking bout you.
Think that’s all, anything I didn’t mention was pretty much covered by the other 2 reasonable ppl here that didn’t just jump on my ass. Yall please find somewhere else to argue. Damn this is long mb

I don’t see anyone mentioning this and I’m not sure if I missed a chapter with how weirdly this is progressing but this is SA. Like nothing is hot about a drug unconsenting party getting forced on. Unconscious people cannot drink tea.
