Bro it’s clear at first that she struggles with seeing the other kids as real because she knows shes in a book which leads her to being a bit detached. But even then she never once “lets” the other girl die. She fights to nurse her back to health and even helps plan and participates in staging the revolt against the adults to get her medical attention. When she fails to save her she literally goes semi-crazy with a thirst for revenge. What kind of red-pilled delusions are you having?
Okay so we did not read the same story.
Literally in the first chapter, she already has her memory back and at the duke and duchess’s funeral, she explicitly says, “I will protect your children". In chapter 3 she says "protecting Estelle should always be my top priority" because she knows she is supposed to die but wants to avoid it.
She didn’t just drop into their lives yesterday like characters in other story, she grew up with those kids. She shared years with them, and she built an entire life in that world with her mother.
Where does she struggle to see them as real?
You were saying she was being apathetic to Estelle dying and that she just “let her die so she could be alone with the main characters” I was saying that there WERE a few times when she did take a step back and suggest that trying to change the story would be futile. But this isn’t her being a monster, this is her acclimating to the fact that this world is real and not a story.
A few times she toyed with the idea of giving up nursing Estelle because she thought her death was already set in stone so she wondered what the point was in trying. This is reflective of her mindset as this implies she still thinks of the world as a story with a set narrative and Estelle as a character with a predetermined fate.
She also stopped trying to fight back against the adults for a while or at least toyed with the idea of doing so because she already knew that at least the brothers would survive because they did in the story, and by doing that she was discounting their suffering by viewing them as story characters that end up fine in the end and not real life children actively going through preventable abuse.
This all changed when Estelle’s situation got critical and she saw just how much they all were suffering and she was the one that risked her life to leave the tower to save them all despite the plot. And when she failed it haunted her.
You absolute clown Sasha didn't know they would be trapped in a tower she thought they would be sent abrod and that she could get Estelle the help she needed before it was too late. But when they were in the tower they were never able to ask for help so she did what she had to and anick out and the adults still didn't do a thing, she did literally everything she could to keep Estelle alive and Estelle wasn't getting her medications while in the tower because they had withheld them she couldn't have known that they would with old them. The first sickness Estelle got would be the one that killed her especially Phamonia which further breaks down the immune system. Estelle couldn't keep her food in either which also weakens her. Sorry but unless Estelle had those pills and treatment from a doctor there was no way Sasha could've saved her.
If i am not mistaken she knew from reading the book that the youngest sister would die but she didnt know exactly how and when, cz the book did not give background details of villains childhood, it was only stated that they studied abroad and their younger sister died due to the illness. The mc did not expect to be locked up in a tower and there is not much she could do against adult men in a place where she did not know who she could ask for help. She did try her best, idk, what else did you expect her to do? They even ended up killing people just to get out of there, and this is not what any average teenager can do. So i would say she did her best, and definitely more than Estelle's bloodrelated brithers did.
I would say her thoughts of giving up were mostly due to desparation and not being able to change anything, to save anyone and get out of this situation. I do not remember her thinking of this world as a book with book characters specifically, i think even when she found out about the world being a book, she still saw everyone as real people and cared for them and did not just think of the book plot as somehing set in stone, she certainly was going to do her best to change those children's fate cz she loved them. But i still get why it seemed like she was ready to give up, sometimes, people are tempted to give up in much less gruesome situations. So in general i agree with you words, i just wanted to say i dont think she considered this world as a book and people as characters and needed so adjustment, i think she was just tired frightened and desperate and she was a child here and even in the world before transmigration - she was an orphan who died in an abondoned building (at least thats how see it).
The MC was like 12 and didn't know they would get locked in a tower for 2 years. It took desperation and 3 of them to even take down some of the adults. They still required outside help to get them out of the tower. (Locked from the outside with no visible door inside). She literally sneaks out to try and convince the uncle to save Estelle and he doesn't do anything to help her. Like???? I don't think you read the same story as everyone else.

This is the second time I’ve tried to read this story and ended up stopping. I never understood why the MC did nothing even though she knew the little girl was going to die, but I think I have it now. She seems to be one of those extremely selfish characters who see themselves as the center of the world simply because they were reincarnated. By letting the girl die, she would have less competition with other men and for the brothers’ attention. I hope another girl has been reborn so she can reveal her true face.
