This one may not be an omegaverse in the typical sense where every other one just revolves around mpreg which I dislike too, I really love the plot of this one.

The story is awesome, the chibis are adorable and there's a cute af baby brother, you won't regret reading this !!! (≧∀≦)

I hear you, I too hate, hate to read about any kind of pregnancy or see any babies/kids, so I avoid most omegaverses, but there are a few that I’ve read that don’t have any hint of pregnancy (some are better than others, but at least no babies or pregnancies)so I’ll leave them here for you if you want to take a peek:

you should still try and read omegaverse stories! i still enjoy them even tho i avoid mpreg stuff too.

so in a typical omegaverse story there are 3 genders (instead of male/female) tbh this might differ depending on the story your reading bc sometimes authors like to change things up and add new stuff.

3 genders being
omega: usually the bottom, can get pregnant/give birth, goes into “heat” basically need an alpha’s pheromones or cum to soothe them aka sex time. idk usually more feminine and weaker. has a sweet or really nice smelling scent aka pheromones to attract alphas. an alpha can claim them by marking them (biting their gland which is usually the back of their neck). sometimes you might see stuff like recessive omega or dominant omega.

beta: normies, no pheromones.

alpha: top of the social hierarchy, usually the dominant one. generally more skilled & wealthy. appearance wise more masculine presenting. goes into “rut” which is the same thing as the heat period but for alphas. in some stories there are dominant alphas aka cream of the crop alphas.

sometimes authors like to add another gender that’s like a mix of alpha and omega lol

Omegaverse is just an alternate universe where there are 3 secondary genders in addition to male and female: alpha, beta, and omega. Betas are just normal people and make up the majority of society. Both alphas and omegas give off pheromones that only other alphas and omegas can detect (but not betas). Alphas are usually "superior" in many ways (bigger, stronger, etc.), while omegas are usually smaller, weaker, etc. and can be impregnated by alphas. Alphas experience ruts. During omegas' heat cycles, they get really horny and give off potent pheromones that make any alphas in the vicinity want to have sex with them. A lot of omegaverse stories heavily rely on this particular trope (which sucks if you're not into rape). If an alpha has unprotected sex with an omega during their heat cycle, it's pretty much a given that they will get pregnant. Suppressants are used to diminish the effects of heats and ruts, but in a lot of stories they aren't very effective for plot (smut) reasons. Only if an alpha and omega pair bond does the omega stop experiencing heat cycles permanently. This consists of the alpha biting the omega's neck during their heat.

as someone who also mostly doesn't like omegaverse, i recommend this !! it starts off as a satire of omegaverse (the mc is a beta who's constantly shitting on the tropes and alphas/omegas) and turns into a really sweet story and examination of the tropes hehe (also since it's beta x alpha, no pregnancy)
