TW for Pedophilia, Rape, Incest, and forced child prostitution in this manga!!!

Initially it was pretty cute, and I was happy to read about some beautiful bald men, but I couldn’t stomach the parts about Momo’s past and can’t bring myself to keep reading. I felt physically sick and honestly started to cry.

The way they show it feels sexualized. An actual CHILD is being raped and trained to be a prostitute by his brother. They drew those scenes the same way they did the consensual sex between the main couple (who were adults) and it’s disgusting. If it was truly to depict his tragic past, you can draw it and show it as horrible as it actually is, instead I felt like I was suddenly shown child porn. I’ve seen rape depicted in a way that isn't sexualized, it’s not like it’s impossible, an artist chooses what they draw and how they draw it. In fact, why visually and graphically depict a child being raped and forced into prostitution in the first place???

I can’t continue to read even if nothing like that is shown again, knowing the Mangaka drew and depicted such a thing like that in such a way. I feel so disgusted.

it's Edo period, nothing's morally right in the 1600s.
i believe sensei trying to convey that these type of "establishment" exists in the past and our uke unfortunately had to experience it. like, some sort of attempt to make us reader to be able to sympathize their situations me thinks.
it's what you get when you are reading HISTORICAL themed BL

I understand that, like I said I just hate how it was depicted

ah ok i understand you can't stomach heavy subject and mildly explicit depiction in the BL. when you feel bad about it or pitying the character, means the plotting?? editorial process? worked "to make you feel that way" (idk how to phrase this)

but your comment really bugging me as if you're trying to paint sensei in negative light.
i too, been reading BL for years, old ones newer ones. i think the way sensei draw it out is just like the usual any oldschool BL i've been reading.
lets not confuse fictional works with real CSAM

It wasn’t “mildly explicit” it was quite explicit. And yeah I honestly do view Sensei in a more negative light now, like I said this was how they chose to depict it.

I get that it was more normalized and not seen as badly back in the day but it doesn’t matter. Old or new BL, when I see something like this I react the same way. Just because it’s an older BL doesn’t excuse it.

Fictional or not it’s still gross. If you asked a random normal adult, especially one that doesn’t spend a lot of time online, or even just pulled someone off the street, 90% would react the same way and find it gross and upsetting.

Idc if this makes me sound ‘sensitive’ or anything, but as a victim after I read this I was triggered and disturbed and been in a down mood ever since. If it was depicted properly in ways I’ve seen in other BL or just other media in general it wouldn’t have effected me as much, but when it’s done like this it feels fetishized and exploitative.

I understand it’s difficult to depict SA and/or CSAM, especially if you haven’t gone through it yourself (not that I’m assuming the author has or hasn’t), but it shouldn’t be that hard to not do it like this.

Maybe I’m being overly sensitive and the author had no intention to have it come across as fetishized, but I don’t feel that way, and at the end of the day that’s that.

I agree, even though I otherwise like this. how a thing is portrayed and depicted is also important.
