Honestly i never understood the trope that an inflexible director is a genius director with a godsent vision... probably the people who write them like this have never been part of an inflexible director's work

    I think it's because a lot of directors who make good films are praised for maintaining creative vision and freedom, with a passion for their work--only for it to be revealed later that many of them were...problematic.

    But I agree. Not a fan of forcing an actor because "I believe in you" despite him BEGGING for the script to be changed and the crew having to slog along. I like the couple, but I don't like the message here. I actually kinda want the director to fail or a rift between him and the actor to form because he didn't respect boundaries and from him to learn from it--but I doubt that'll happen.
