Rereading this for the second time, and I still agree!! Han Karam was not nearly as fleshed out as Junseo or even Yoonsung for that matter... it kind of felt like he came to like Jaewon out of nowhere, compared to Junseo, who ended up bonding with him over their shared trauma. The ending was severely disappointing. ( ̄へ ̄)

as much as i wouldve liked to root for the main couple, the amount of weight they put onto th second male lead's backstory and feelings made it hard not to root for him instead. the mc and 2ndMl just have it all laid out for them in the beginning, to the point where i thought it was going to be a bait and switch: theyre both gay in a predominantly straight school, with the fear of being outed and losing their friends.
the first half sets it up (to me) as if this chance encounter is actually the best for their relationship. 2ndMl even got a tragic backstory! but the 1stMl?: hes a top student, good at fighting, extremely perceptive... and thats all we know about him. what about his thoughts about liking a guy for the first time? or his family life? or any of the things that made the 2ndMl more easy to sympathize with?? let me be clear, i really like his character, but so much more could've been done with him!
overall, i guess if i squint, i can see what the author was going for in this story, but i dont think they did a very good job.
