Yep!! he only used the marriage for political gain (so he can have everything and leave MC with nothing) but he realized it was the perfect opportunity to tie MC down w with him so he broke it off( ◜‿◝ )

Okay so we all know this is just rape, right? If you haven't figured that out yet well, here's your sign. That's how it is even in the end of the main storyಠ‿ಠ
MC is devoured by the ML every day, every night, and everytime the father leaves the estate. He fucks him every chance he gets, I wish I was joking. The servant that was originally part of the plan sees this every time, like how the ML goes inside the MCs room but only comes out after a long time has passed.
It will go on and on until the servant(Maki) sees MC kind of out of it?? like when he went in to serve him as usual, the MC who is usually very neat and tidy is basically naked and just has a single cloth covering him. The MC is resigned to his fate basically and flinches when the ML gets close (bcz he knows what's coming).
I won't go into details but MC eventually raises his affection for ML a bit (LOLLL) and then there'll come a day when they'll go out together and the ML will gift MC some stuff that he said he found on the market and thought of MC so he bought it, and MC will feel touched by it. Only for MC to find out on the same day that the reason the ML was on the market was to buy a DOWRY for his future wife.
This hurts MC and he hates the ML, he pushes him away but obviously... it's yaoi so fucking still continues(even if MC is a bit heart broken)
It isn't a while before a day when the ML and the father both leaves the estate and the MC devises a plan with his servant to escape. (NOTE: he tried to escape before but found out that the ML planted a lot of spies around him to watch his every move). Before he did, he packed a few things and while doing so he brought out some sort of plaque I think I don't remember, but basically it was the proof of the ML's true identity which was the son of his father's friend, whose family(three generations of it) was killed for treason or some shit. MC thinks of using it to blackmail ML so he can have a hard time while MC can finally be free. BUT MC was already catching feelings so he COULDN'T use it. Blah.
Anyway, they run away and during that, they're almost caught by the ML bcz *yaoi logic* he can find u wherever u may be LOL but eventually the plan succeeds. He's able to get away from ML and his father isn't suspicious bcz MC left a letter for him saying he'd be in another place that their family owns (obv he isn't).
He lives in a cottage somewhere in the countryside with his servant and lives a "normal" life for a whole month before the ML finds him. You can already guess what happened ML finds him, I don't meed to spell that one out but yes he rapes him. Oh my god so shocking, how could that possibly be. He also threatened to cut off his achilles tendon if he dared to run away again.
While doing so, ML goes on to say "I found the plaques that could prove my connection to a treasonous family that could've gotten me killed if you'd just exposed it but you didn't so that means you love me, and also you've been targeting the people around me who shows even a bit of admiration towards me and u blame them for crimes they didn't do to make sure they didn't get a chance to get close to me, and you also used your servant to plot against me bcz you knew he liked me and if you used him to frame me of sodomy not only will my marriage agreement fall apart, he would lose his life and no one would bother me anymore. You've been pushing people away from me bcz you've been in love with me the whole time but you just didn't know it." So yeah the ML got rid of the marriage agreement.
And MC is like, that.....makes sense. Jk. Remember when the shaman said he was a tree/sprout and the ML was like an axe or something?
He thought that if he accepted his fate, maybe the axe wouldn't be violent and he wouldn't fear getting cut down anymore. And his servant says "so he was born to be obsessed with you because an axe is created to cut off trees" or something like that.
And then they lived happily ever after
