I know he cheated but he did it to show to his father that he didn't really love Rael so he wouldn't kill her. I don't say Rael should forgive him, but he was like 16-17 when he loved her. Ishid told him he should have protected her another way, but his notion of protection was simply never contact Yunifer. Both approaches were wrong, and Cassian deep down was a good person since he respected Rael's decision to separate, to never see each other again and didn't even put her under surveillance. For me he just have to find someone new to love that loves him back. And also Rael should know why those things happened.
