'Dick' is an understatement. He's an insufferable, selfish asshole. The fucked up shit he said to Maxi before she leaves him was enough to make me want to swing a clean hit to his jaw if he were a real person. He never even apologizes to Maxi. Both for the argument they had before she left nor for the way he treated her after she'd return.
prepare yourself bc it gets better & then it gets worse … i’m reading the novel and knowing what Riftan is thinking in his mind- he’s self sabotaging. like every time his actions piss us off, you see what he’s thinking and then you understand why (regardless he’s still being a dick)
