I agree, not sure what he is doing here. Could just be some filler? Maybe it just gives backstory on Victoria's future behavior, though Raoul will never forgive her even if he knows. Maybe this is just for us, the viewer?

It’s so they can definitely pair the Mc and her up seeing how thickly it’s being laid down pissed me off backtracking and giving them a pitiful story makes me feel absolutely nothing dead inside because their actions didn’t showcase even the slightest hesitation towards what they wanted to do I understand the gods manipulating them and everything and that is sad but giving the character needed as the villain to remain loathsome why would they change it into a story attempting to get your sympathy bc I don’t feel that for the author or any of these characters besides the demon princess and Raoul
the author can rot tbh I think they are preparing a stage in which Victoria is raped and Raoul falls for her or something shitty like that there’s too much consistent rape that’s been thrown in just so they can goon to their own fantasy through this story that I can’t assume they won’t do something vile like that again even though the beginning was fun and vengeful so it was a good story and then the decided to add AS MUCH rape scenes possible some of them lasting more chapters if drawing that isn’t to make them feel good then they are just an awful person who genuinely enjoys making women and men suffer from rape and it’s NASTY. I’ve dropped this after they made it so the only good strong character is getting forced into consistent rape to “make babies” fucking gross I really like her and I can’t fathom reading further knowing the treatment she’s gonna get
We can only hope that Raoul will break into the castle in time to stop that from happening... but then... he's not exactly the "swoop in and save the day" sorta guy anymore and currently is of the mind that he doesn't owe the Demon Queen anything... it feels like he enjoys messing with her though and he certainly wants her "mother" dead...
I'm a bit confused on what the author is trying to do here... he's (it's gotta be a 'he' w/ all this SA and such) set Victoria up to be a perfect target of scorn and deserving of revenge. In a revenge story you WANT the person getting it to deserve it. But now he's building up this back story to make you feel bad and empathetic to her.. wtf man
as an aside, we can see the shitty king has been shitty from go. no surprise there I suppose.
