they don't live in the same state as Chase, so during the contract Pete is with his grandma and aunt, Josh has long shifts so ofc he can't go everyday to see him but he visits and calls him

It's implied he at least calls him every night, it's not necessary for the story to show it all the time because it wouldn't add anything tbf
