    No. It doesn't happen often for a series that was put on hiatus to get continued, especially a remake. This is my first time actually encountering one

    It rarely happens even with anime

    That's because the hiatus wasn't the author's choice, they got into a fight with the editor/publisher (from what I can remember) so they were forced to stop. I guess it was a big regret for them to not be able to finish that story and we're glad they had the motivation to start again. I don't know about the artist but the style is completly different (the first one had that cute but amatorish style)

    It's the same artist. They just improved the more they drew
