But the dialogues are pretty vague. I'm still in doubt.... knowing his nature maybe he thought it was nothing to sleep with someone for political motives coz it's the heart that matters or what matters is that he will keep Chloe with him.....idk he just seems very very nonchalant. He doesn't exactly respect her or takes her feelings into consideration.... especially before the lady's murder. You see nothing about "not being physically involved" is mentioned...he just says something vague like "how could I cast you aside when I never thought of you as mine."....well am I supposed to believe that since he never thought of her as his...he never touched her ? Of course not. He could've just touched her to use her? I'm not saying I'm sure he did.... I'm just not sure that he absolutely DIDN'T. U know what I mean? It's unclear. And they never actually discuss it later too.
Umm, if you see his POV in the later chapters, you will know why he acts and talks like that. And you'll see how he fell for her first so really, nothing to worry with the other woman.

Just to add some reassurance, his view on women as a whole is basically Chloe <3, his mom, and the female species which he perceives with the equivalent interest of a hair stylist looking for a bald client.
But yes, this story is rage bait 100 and it truly is for better and *worse* they are intertwined lol
Hey so can anyone tell me if when marchioness isabella was playing the role of the liver of damien, did that mean they also slept together during that time...coz...in politics people do all sorts of things? And I'm assuming all that was cut off after damiens marriage...but they still had articles going on in the papers..so were they still involved. Anyway... it's appalling that damien doesn't think there's anything remotely wrong with him being there in the room with isabella, his shirt half undone and then telling his wife to go back and then shutting the door in her face ? He doesn't clarify anything about the mistress to chloe ever? He is too busy goading her ? "Are u jealous" ? Jealous my foot...she hasn't even fully developed feeling yet and u show this shameless appearance to her ....if anything she would feel utterly disrespected. It's clear as day that damien has fun putting her in difficult situations.....then he laughs at it....it amuses him....and then he wants her to be cute about it and love him ? Honestly..i understand being playful and mischievous..but all this is just painful I feel...for chloe. He's treating her like a plaything. And ofcourse she has to display loyalty wrt gilles but he doesn't have to... double standards are surely expected. I thoroughly hate damien. And you know what? I'm re reading..so wow i still managed to hate him so much after knowing the full story too haha.
