Unfortunately most people doesn't rate on plot but just the "vibes". If anything they even hate rate it just to be more immature

I have the same issue w novelupdates. Trying to find good dark genre story is hard when u try to do a manual filtering. So I mostly just rely on reading list reco and such. ┗( T﹏T )┛

When someone does actually follow through and read smth entirely and they say "I didn't like it, it had rape/abuse" they are often met with "if you didn't like it then why did you read it"

There's literally no winning
You get questioned when you say you couldn't get past it
And you get questioned when you say you did read it.

"DLDR" tends to just be a roundabout way to say "don't critique the thing I like" really.

Not all critique is constructive(and not all praise is constructive), and many times people DON'T know what they are getting into. Reviews tend to be very "I LOVED THIS" with no real explanation of what could possibly be cons or pros in a story.

Just bc a story was not catered to some doesn't mean they lose the right to say "I don't like this" when smth about the story roped them in initially.

that sentence « don’t like don’t read » is stupid, therefore, i will rate your disgusting story 1 star and make a long ass review saying it’s sick. if you want to read cp then read it and let others complain because in the end, your morals are nonexistent

That's why never ever go to choose the story based on rating here especially. Just read a few chapters atleast 15 to see if you enjoy it. And I do not agree with rating Without even reading the story but I don't have the energy to have banter with half the people here. So yeah, just keep in mind about the rating is nothing here. Maybe like Mydram@list. Half the low rated dramas there were rare gems and most 9.5 rated ones were so bad. I advise you to go check on the old lists that were like before 2019-20. There were many low rated gems there.

I understand! It doesn't come off mean. I see comments on here with valid criticism of how abusive stories are handled and I would like to clarify those comments are totally fine, but a majority of what i see is just one star ratings with 'ew' or 'couldn't get past the first chap' which is so confusing because they haven't consumed anything to even give it a rating. If you read something that featured abuse later onto the story the criticism seems valid but reading shit with abuse in the first chap and then leaving a bad review seems silly. Also love the xav pfp ^_^

Nah I get where you are coming from.
My main point was towards DLDR and how I see it used to avoid critism.
Other than that I get where you are coming from. I dislike vague reviews aswell, both positive and negative. I think if someone at the very least says "I didn't like this *bc* [issue]" it can then be up to the person looking at the review to decide if that's also con for them, yfm?
As opposed to saying "I like this bc [thing]" which avoids things that could be deal breakers.
As someone who tends to avoid rape/abuse I find those reviews most helpful bc tags sometimes be missing the mark horribly. (no hate to those who do read that.)
