I agree with everything except the crying part. If you think crying makes you weak, I'm sorry, but you need to grow up emotionally. The girl isn't weak; she had bottled-up feelings, and it's okay to let them out. She's still strong. Did she run away from the social pressure of the ball? No. Did she run away from the monsters? No. So yeah, she's not weak; she's a human being with feelings.
I didn’t mean that she cannot cry. It just doesn’t make sense to me that she cries in front of a lot of people. When she used to be a commander and knight in front of a lot of men. I feel like it doesn’t make sense for her character. If you grew up in that type of environment I don’t think she would be crying this much. Maybe in secret. Idk this is just my thoughts
It makes perfect sense with her personality. The story literally showed her childhood, and even now she still acts the same way deep down. She only tried to change because of her mother and because she thought everything she did was a mistake. As a knight, she was just keeping composure and pretending for her family aka posing as her brother, but that doesn’t actually change who someone is. It was also one of the first times she could express herself in her own way instead of copying her brother or following what her mother wanted, so of course she ended up crying. All those emotions hit her at once after growing up being taught that being herself was “wrong. Also as you can see when she was a knight she wanted express but she couldn’t because she couldn’t let anyone find out she wasn't her brother
Honestly I agree...
It would be more interesting if she had miraculously recovered instead of going back in time. A revenge story and her healing by taking back control of her own life would be more interesting. I'd even be more accepting if she met ml like that and his admiration for her feats and him seeing her for who she is made them fall for each other.
I also think in the current situation prince is the better ml. Masquis seems more like a sibling and she needs someone in that older brother position to heal her family trauma. And I hate this trope of guardian/non related family to lovers trope. He currently sees her as a younger sister and I wish it stayed that way... with her and the prince getting to know and falling for each other with his help. Even better if she got properly adopted into the Marquis's household. I want more proper siblings dynamics than romance in current rofan.
About her crying... I do think she deserves to cry her heart out and letting all that sadness bottled up go... she needs that before healing. However... that paired with her being young again gives off that weak and fragile heroine that's strong only "on paper" and needs to me protected and saved by ml all the time. It makes her seem "fake strong" because they did a bad job of showing her strength. As such it makes her seem weak in mind and body... and that weakness contradicts what we expect of someone that lived that kind of previous life.
I think a good way to explain that is comparing to male regressors in action fantasy. What do you think a male mc would do if he was forced to fight in place of their brother, while hiding his identity and suffering a gruesome death because his family refused to even treat him and then woke up years before? A bloodbath. Even if not so, he'd plot his revenge while secretly growing stronger enough. Even if like her he just got out and a strong backer he'd focus on getting stronger, take revenge and stop his previous life friends and subordinates from suffering the same fate again. But because this is a female mc rofan... the family got away with money, no revenge in sight, no efforts to get stronger, no real care for all the people she's seen die and this weird notion that being loved by a man and him helping and pampering her to heavens will magically heal her and fix all her problems. I think is that disparity when we see that she could become strong enough to not depend on the ml... but authors decide to imply she is strong but still make her depend on ml that irks most readers in this kind of rofan.
And quite honestly, is not her crying that bothers me in particular. Is how only sadness and wanting to leave all behind and "live for herself" remains after all she went through. Like are you kidding me? Where's the hate? The anger? The fury over being used and left to die like that? She was indignant enough to be sent back in time in her death but all that. Gone? Without a trace? And even letting her family go with the money after they sold her to the marquis? That feels... too unrealistic. No one would be able to let that ho like that... being a woman doesn't change that... and even it being rofan ain't really enough to justify this for me. We didn't even get the bare minimum of having the "ml getting revenge on her behalf"... or her planing to do so when she gets stronger... again... I get the crying the trauma the emotional outburst the sadness and wanting to live a better life for herself... but the anger should also be there too. That erasure is what pisses me and makes her seem so weak willed compared with her original self.
Btw, sorry, it got a bit too long... and not picking fights, just expressing my opinion...

Gonna list some things that kinda annoys me:
1. I prefer if she stayed in her previous life and disowns her family and gets what she rightfully is owed.
2. I want more interactions with the prince, I feel like he is a better ml. From character background and design-wise. I prefer him.. They are also both interested in each other.
3. She cries too much and her personality is too weak for a knight who used to commands people...
These are my personal takes..
