Could've been deeper and more sinister

This story has so much lost potential. For the dark themes of sacrifice, cruelty, and loss it has, it doesn't show enough blood or true anguish imo. It just progressed into a story with a vague vampire setting where everyone ends up gay. The father also seems a bit too cartoonish and cliche of a villain, some of his lines and actions are just so annoyingly cheesy.

It also annoys me how the ML who's supposedly so yearning (btw apart from the scent and all, we never truly see the build up to these strong feelings in their highschool years) never really shows up at the right time to protect his kin; he's all words, but barely actions. The main couple bored me to death, the other potential couples were what kept me reading, but they, too, weren't executed in the most compelling way. I enjoy the colors in this lol, especially the eyes and hair colors. That's about it.

It got me tired and burnt out quickly to read this.

I get what you mean! Like when I was reading this while it's ongoing Ir felt different but now rereading it in one go I feel like there's some flaws here and there. Butwell I just chalk it up to that this is one of the "first gen" of BL for Korea in mainstream webcomics. So they were like yk being cautious with it. I remember blood bank and killing stalking being the most shocking and memorable to people because it's explicit and hella great plot. But at the same time because people loved these stories the bl genre boomed

Yeah, that makes sense. It felt a bit too tame.

Blood Bank... That one broke me when I read it back then and I'm still putting off rereading it because I feel like the sadness and despair will come up again lol. Killing Stalking is also making me so nostalgic!

Ughhhhh girl pls read blood bank again, the angst is what makes it worth it!! God it was such an awakening, yk how bl back then is just toxic smut and then we have super lovers, junjou Romantica which has some questionable tropes, then blood bank looking like an S&M story but actually it has a coherent fucking plot i feel sad that the author didn't follow it up anymore. It's a beloved classic

Yeah, it's super delicious angst (I loooove doomed and angsty yaoi), I may approach it soon... It really had everything, from plot to the BDSM aspects that we didn't see enough of in other stories. I'm in my guideverse arc right now, so after binging , I'll get to rereading, I think. You gave me a good call there.

Omg, stooop, Junjou Romantica, Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi, Maiden Rose and, omfg, Boku no Pico... My 12 year old stupid ass back then wanted to get her hands on anything yaoi related, I DID NOT process that shit the way I should've lmao. I rewatched some stuff and yeah, the super rapey and problematic tropes were everywhere. BL really has come a long way... But it also hasn't and we can see it in its history.
