I'll probably get a lot of dislikes but I don't know how people can genuinely like Heonjae. I seriously cannot help but think that someone like him could exist in real life.

So, imagine if someone like him got interested in you. At first, you would probably think that he's really cute but your gut will tell you that he is a little bit weird. You wouldn't know why but some of his manners would give you the chills.

Then, you got to know him better and you find out about his past and you realize that he harassed his coach he ruined his life he is really unstable, violent and doesn't know what's morally right or wrong.

Now, after knowing all of this you realize that you cannot escape from him because he is obsessed with you and he really thinks he likes you and he tries to keep his distance and respect you to show you how much he truly cares about you, while he waits for your answer to his proposal.

You don't know how to answer, but something tells you that if you reject him, you don't know how would he take that, or how much will he hurt you. To me, that sounds horrifying, I really got the chills writing all of this.

Trust me he ain’t likable. I’ve noticed people have a tendency to like characters that they can lowkey infantilize. He is a lot closer to real life people than most like to acknowledge.

We like him because in the confines of fiction he’s safe. Same reason why people love horror movies— doesn’t meant they want to be in one. Suspension of belief and logic is necessary for a lot of manwhas. The fear is part of the “fun” for the reader, because ultimately it’s also safe because it’s not real.

This is fiction girl, and I like him more than Jingi, so what? What’s the point of saying all that? I mean, we are reading it and having “favorites” like the same shit when you read terror or when you like a villain more than a hero like chill

Yes!! He's a really complex and terrifying character. He's clearly very well written because you can actually believe that someone like him could exist in real life. I know there are many cruel characters in manhwas who are completely crazy and awful, and people tend to reply with, “What about XYZ, who’s trash and yada yada?” But they don’t feel real the way Heonjae does, and that’s art, so kudos to the author!! ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

I really like the fact that some people appreciate the complexity of the character rather than the character himself. He terrifies me, but only because he’s so well written that it’s possible to imagine someone like him existing in real life.
