Idk if this is a hot take or not (and it doesnt ONLY pertain to yaoi but I mostly read that so) but I feel like it's strange when people get surprised or upset when authors get mad when their work ends up on here lmaoooo. If I put my hard work and time into making art, I would wanna get paid for it too lol like im still gonna read on this site but I do try to actively put money into the stuff I enjoy. I'm not gonna demonize anyone who wants to get paid for their work cuz some people will talk so much shit when authors try to get their works off here, but I mean it makes sense if you look at it from their perspective. It takes like 3 minutes to read a chapter but a week for them just to make it AND theres usually multiple people involved. Like i get not being able to afford it but lets be honest, theres probably plenty of people who COULD afford it but still dont cuz they can just get it for free lol. Theres NOTHING wrong with authors feeling they should be paid for their work lol Continue to read here but support if ya can, type of thing

I respect an author more when their yaoi story has some straight people/couples too vs if all their characters/couples were gay.

When I first started reading I thought lightsabers were real. Only when I started to read uncensored version I realised that men didn't walk around with lightsabers. Yeah I was a huge idiot

Idk if this is a hot take or what but when authors/illustrators are nearing the end of the series and they're like yk unwell, they should take a hiatus. I mean, I've read a few fire manhwa's that I can see why arent popular (or lost popularity) because the ending kind of sucked and pretty rushed! Another one is when the story is changed in manhwa and is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the novel. It's like respect to the novel tbh bcs why are you changing the story line?? Anyways, thats all lol (this hot take is like generalized atp)

Yeah, they should take care of themselves and it also lowers the quality of the series of they keep pushing themselves. I don't get why people complain about authors taking breaks, they are people too!! It's fine if you cannot read a chapter for one week. And also I HATE it when the manhwa is different from the novel. IT'S SO BAD!! This is how I feel with books and movie adaptations too. Especially the one for Johnny Tremain...the movie was horrible... The Husky and His White Cat Shizun had a great manhua tho, it hit lots of key points in the novel. If you're ever interested, you should go read it
