I can agree with this though this mochi person should've thought about the consequences imo but some of the people are taking it a bit too far honestly, it's okay to call out people but sending death or rape threats is WAY too far
RIGHTT like based off some of these comments you would think this mochi person got on live and started like abusing animals or some other evil shit like should they be called out? yes. should they be told to die for it? nooo and tbh the only reason this person gained sm attention was because of the chapters getting deleted—deadass mochi js did smth stupid at the wrong place and wrong time. like it’s not a justification they should def be let known why their comment was hypocritical but most of the severity of these comments is insane
I hate how some of the comments are even proving the mochi person's point of the community getting very toxic people need to chill a little with these insults over one stupid comment one person made, like i get that it's super frustrating to get the chapters removed and having to wait longer for officials to catch up but it's never that serious enough to tell someone to kill themselves
It's like mochi killed someone or something not trying to justify their actions but people shouldn't go extremely far with these insults and harassment, as someone who went through cyberbullying online it is never okay to go extreme especially if mochi is a teenager. It's okay to be frustrated but it's never okay to go extremely far with insults or threats towards the person.

(1) Imo, I agree, telling someone to die over a difference of opinions is crazy. I think at the end of the day, it is important to go support officials. There will always be unofficials translations that maybe some are unhappy with. Commenting your potential gripes about them is an opinion, controversial or not, but ppl personally shouldn't be receiving death threats over it. Ofc unofficials are appreciated. Cause not everyone is able to afford paying.
3)Cause whether we are readers or translators, everyone deserves some level of compassion and should not be subjected to this. If you aren't happy with a comment, maybe the best thing to do is ignore it and go on with the rest of your day. It will be better for your mental tbh. Anger is never the solution. But that's just my 2 cents
2) Iirc, over there it had some sort of standards such as not posting chapters when officials come out, or like letting the first person who posted 1st chapter translation of a unofficial be the sole one posting until officials are out, etc. I just think that maybe some people need to think before posting.
^godamn i hate the text limit but reference 2) was about how people talked about "ethics of scanlations", and perhaps people were used the standards that the "unnamed big site that was removed" had.
