Newer art styles

I feel like a lot of the new manhwas have the same stiff anatomy art style. I can always tell when it's gonna be like that just by how they draw hands. I still enjoy them tho but it feels like something I have been mostly seeing recently lol

can't even enjoy the mindless smut stuff because, among other things, the poses are stiff as hell and lacking eroticism beyond "look, it's sex!". not to mention that so many artists focus so much on muscle size and definition for the men that they look less like people and more like statues interacting. I want to see the squash and stretch and pliability of flesh, not action figures banging together!

The reason for this is because a lot of these artists use the same apps and programs that allow them to trace over 3D models for their poses. Naturally, it retains a lot of rigidity, however, it is a lot quicker to work that way.

That being said, I dislike it immensely when a drawing is very obviously traced over a model, and as you said, it’s very evident in the hands specifically. You lose so much personality in a work when everyone is the same shape as those models, even down to their fingers.

Yessss! I want squish not boxy bodies lol. Two art styles that really impressed me were 4 week lovers and No moral. It was a combination of rendering and anatomy. You can just really feel the fleshiness of everything instead of it looking so hard and weird lol. I think Candy Yumyum was another one that I liked artstyle wise

that actually makes a lot of sense. I cant remember what manhwa it was that went over the process of drawing chapters and they used 3D Models and then just drew in the heads and other details. That one didnt look bad tho so it kinda sucks how a lot of them are just kinda obvious now lol. I wish I could remember what story it was lol

4 week lovers has too much yaoi sexual dimorphism going on with the character designs for me to be into it, but I see what you mean. when it comes to that kind of physical difference, I like 1 to 10 and the second couple in serenity film better. dreaming of the dokkaebi and limited run are also good for feeling fleshy. ouroboros and lovesick dog are good examples of giving that vibe with less rendering, too.

yaoi sexual dimorphism is the perfect way to put it lol.
There was something special about the art in Dreaming of the Dokkaebi. The plot alone is amazing and feels like something that could be successfully animated. The art is absolutely delicious.
1 to 10 was really good, I think the thing I liked about that one was how the artist drew faces. Very pretty eyes. The art style also reminded me of Semantic Error, not in the way they designed the characters but something else. I cant pinpoint the exact verbiage for the specific trait I'm thinking of lol.
I've noticed that the rendering is something that really gets me into an art style the most. Biscuit is a manhwa that might have my favorite art style so far honestly, I absolutely adore the rendering in that one. I've always said that the way you can tell a good art style is how good they draw hands and penises lol and it gets so detailed, down to realistic veins.
Biscuit and Plaything (by POTION) are in my top 5 fave art styles. Plaything mostly because I love a buff bottom lol but I love how pretty all the characters are and I feel like the way the bodies interacted with the settings around them were satisfying. Someone said that the author for plaything tends to draw "Dead eyed pretty tops" and I have to agree but I love it. The eyes remind me of a shark once it locks in on prey.
I havent read Ouroboros yet but I was absolutely in love with Love Sick dog for a multitude of reason, the art definitely being one of them. The art is loose but in a good way.
