oh- I thought girl was here. You do have a point tho. Many BL (I think i have also seen this phenomenon in straight works - Usagi drop, violet evergarden) do show some younger + older pair where whichever party (top or bottom) do "fall in love" but... it does give grooming or worse for an incesteous relationship. idk why it exists in the first place, seen as a normalized romantic relationship where nobody within said fictional universe calls it out. even if they pull the usual "not blood tho! only step! or not blood tho! just parental figure" *side eye* The only explanation i have found from east Asia (a chinese woman) explaining this weird thing was it did seem romantic there due to the usual "but not blood related tho!" so the general public gives it a "pass". Another how the only child policy has changed the perspective on normal relationship btw siblings (like how they bitter, dump, or even hate on each other , not everything is roses and sunshine), so not much seen as taboo (?), while also how china might not consider adopted children as part of the "family" rather than the west. Like both west and asia do depict incesteous relationships in media while the west gives it a taboo bad light (cecil game of thrones) the east romanticizes it looking at it that it might be "normal innocent love". There was a popular BL with something like "Dragon dragon" (i forgot) where the mc, the adult, took care of the male lead, a child, where even if the adolescent child pushed for the relationship, eh- the adult is the adult...and the author made them end up together... :/ Another work: The tail of Genji, oldest japanese literature novel where the male mc kidnaps a young girl to shape her as his future wife after being dumped by his father's mistress -like his literal step-mom...
See, I don’t mind it if they briefly have an encounter when one of them is a child… it’s mad weird if the child is raised by the other and then they fall in love though T-T Like this one? They met for a political marriage, and almost immediately were separated for ten years… where ML was fighting for his life to gain control of his kingdom, he had to grow up fast without interference from the MC. So I don’t find it as odd I guess? I have encountered some other stories (not BWAT btw) that were flat out just… pdf-ish, and absolutely grooming— mercy my eyes
I think for taming the tiger it was more of a power imbalance relationship cuz of the employeremployee thing. that said, I haven't finished it. For this one, it doesn't feel odd, cuz theh only met briefly and tei didn't raise shuraka. in fact, it's helped by the fact that tei isn't even in love with him yet, he's still acting on his feelings of loyalty. Plus, tei wasn't expecting to go with shuraka again, he assumed shuraka would marry a woman. Age gap relationships with a past meeting will always be questionable, but this manhwa does format it properly so it's not grooming.

nah y'all only glaze this author's works cause its's BWAT (blood link was peak)
pretty interesting concept, but did the bottom have to meet the top when shakira was a fucking child
i've noticed a weird ass pattern, miscreants and mayhem and taming the tiger have the bottom meeting, or hell even raising the top before things get heated.
suspicious asf, i think i've decided to drop ts
