And in the manhwa he clearly says he was essentially locked up and that he has no memory of what happened the night before after he wakes up except that he feels a sense of emptiness. Of course when a rut starts to calm down the alpha will be more gentle. It doesn't mean he's going to remember more.
Also what does not having the memory of something have to do with whether he figured out he was assaulting/having sex with someone or not? It doesn't.
