Some countries and hospitals in real life don't allow women to abort without the guys approval, so this is actually pretty realistic unfortunately.
Even in my country, while legally a woman doesn't need permission from a man to abort, there are several hospitals that still refuse to do so without the father of the baby or father of the woman approving it, which is messed up.
Finding out your pregnant from accidentally stepping on a pregnancy test is one thing but a doctor saying you’re required to tell your partner about the baby before you terminate is completely wrong and such a dangerous narrative to spread even in a fictional story wtf are we doing.
